Is there any particular reason why you're going to hold off starting to read Wicked?

This is exactlyWell this is my second go with Wicked, and I don't remember caring for it much.
what you think it is.
I understand that. I do think I read it several years ago and thinking that it was an interesting take on the story, but not being absolutely in love with it either... that it was a little weird. I don't remember the details at this point
My day is good so far. My sister and niece are here on a surprise visit, they're staying for about a week.

This is exactlyWell it carries this author's obsession with characters that are piles of poopy. Like Dorothy is an overly religious brat, and making fun of everything she comes across in Oz. And just unlikeable characters.

That's actually what I recall from Wicked. I'm tempted to dig out my copy of the book and attempt to re-read it too.

This is exactlyEh not really, they're all still pretty unlikeable. But the other two are more interesting because he mixes fairy tales into historical events. Like the Tulip Fever in the Netherlands, where people lost their homes in debt because of freaking tulips. And putting the very real Medici family into Cinderella. The 'prince' is just a minor noble of that particular family. Then using the Bogias in Snow White.
Wicked though, is pretty much all fantasy. With just really annoying characters.

My niece is 14. We don't have a focus or anything this week while they're here. My vehicle is still in the shop, so I can't really do one-on-one adventures. :T
My house isn't boring, there's plenty to do. But I don't have the kind of energy she wants me to have.

Good to know AMA. I'll have to look to see if I have the book still loaded on my kindle, but I'll also probably finish reading the series I just started first. No rush ;)
Oh yes, Koah - that whole energy thing is crazy. They're either hyper from all the hormones and just being 14, or, they sleep 22/24 hrs a day! Maybe try to divert her in to other things? A puzzle or board game? A bike ride or walk? Cooking?

Ok, WTF is a Microsoft Edge document and Why The F* is it trying to save a PNG file as that file type... especially when I'm using Firefox and Edge isn't running at all. -grumbles about Microsoft overstepping boundaries and making all kinds of stupid assumptions- (sorry - this is a pet peeve of mine - I'm not usually a fan of MS or its products)
