@Ina: noob, newbie, nun, or n00b? But to be fair, if it's a "private" conversation between a group of players, there's no need to worry about being a noob. When you join anything, you don't know the dynamics of the different groups! If you take random remarks personally, it's not the groups issue, it's a you issue.
Now if the group is running around in a begginer area, calling clearly new players noobs and degrading them about their choices? That's not cool.
Then again, different game communities use noob, newbie, n00b, nub in different ways. You can be a newbie and noob in one game, and it's not meant to be a bad thing.

@Ina: not sure what this person was saying specifically, and it doesn't matter.
What does mater is that it sucks. If the person was being overly aggressive about begginer players, even jokingly, it's no fun. But everyone who has played any game before knows that everyone starts off as a squishy. It's just good advertisement for people to stay away from that particular player.
