New Characters
To be revealed as the chapters go on...
We have two new NPCs joining the Voltra cast, as well as a barrage of other characters, giving more context to the Metal Realm!
Mayor Volkan Father to Vanora, he is one of five founders of Voltra - serving now as its dutiful mayor.
He has a robust and positive personality but always has a vibe to him that leaves people skeptical of his real intentions.
Truly he is passionate about doing the right thing and helping others.
Originally from the Realm of Sound, was a farmer that fled due to the western most land getting toxic soil that killed his crops and left the father of two desperate to find new land to plant his roots into.
Vaughn Mard'Gear: A slick and sly traveling merchant from the Realm of Metal who is missing an arm.
He loves his cigars and whiskey, and while kind of a bad influence to be around, often speaks valid words of wisdom.
Charming, cunning and manipulative when needed - otherwise a caring individual who prefers to think before he acts and has a very logical, though sometimes cynical outlook.
Valentina is his adoptive daughter he found as a stow-away on his airship.
He wasn't ready for fatherhood but she was a tough kid to bargain with. Ended up being a welcome challenge.
Ruby Diorite: Valentina's biological mother.
Cold-hearted narcissist who is the head of one of the four great families of Metal.
Her big corporation focusing on fashion, marketing, and a league of super models and won't settle for less than perfectly pretty.
She held Valentina to high and unreasonable expectations that, when not met, disciplined harshly.
She believes she was blessed with her place in life and justifies her lack of empathy for the lower class that they aren't working hard enough.
Somewhere deep down she loves her daughter, but has been too hurt in the past to conceptualize healthy family dynamics.
Sapphire Zircon: One of the great 4, Sapphire is the only one who through a stroke of lucky circumstances made her way from Poverty to riches - and clings to it desperately and anxiously.
She joined what was the Big 3 at the time and her status justified her own sect that renamed them the Great 4.
She is a genius who engineered prosthetics that became a demand in the metal realm due to factory accidents - she also is the CEO of multiple medical insurance agencies.
Quartz Goldman: One of the Great 4 and the richest of them all, Quartz is a serious man who keeps his words succinct, pristine, and sharp.
A tactician at heart and unphased by war, Quartz got his place as the lead manufacturer of Weapons for all realms in the world.
His designs can harness both magical or electrical energy and he is committed to a no-bias clause.
You get what you pay for, he supports no side, and remains a business man simply selling to whichever customer comes his way.
Maverick Agate: One of the Great 4, he is a joyful guy that is easy to make friends with - mostly because that's the most
lucrative approach. He owns a majority of the most complex cave systems known to the Realm, and harvests a variety of ores for
wholesale all around the world. No one really hates him, he frequents the steam districts and works side by side with his miners frequently.
At his worst, he hates being wrong and has a bit of a hissy fit until he calms down and apologizes for his outbursts.
Amethyst: Black Mamba, Guardian of Metal - Amethyst is gem obsessed and takes a lot of pride in her artform (accessory making).
Completely enticed by shiny things, she kisses up to the Great 4 to enjoy the shared luxuries, considers Ruby one of her best friends as they have a lot of similar interests.
She has a soft spot for Valentina but is completely ignorant to controversies around her, preferring to think everything is fine.
Cinnabar: Cockatiel, Guardian of Metal - Cinnabar has a few loose screws and a lack of self-awareness.
Ultimately insecure and compensates with being a bit of a jerk.
Most don't have patience to be around him for too long and his social etiquette is poor, if only someone could tolerate him and show him true friendship, he might thrive better.
Rhodium: Rhino, Guardian of Metal - Rhodium is a grounded individual who aligns himself strongly with nature. He has low tolerance for the bureaucratic nonsense of the Cyber Elite and spends most of his time in the Steam districts helping adventurers and factory workers alike. He is leading an investigation on a big issue in the Metal Realm that is Child Labor, and hoping one day equality can be brought to all.

The Blooming March
What we are celebrating this glorious day in Voltra...

One of the legends that the Realm of Sound holds dear, is the story of Chunhua. She is said to have been the first and original guardian of Sound gifted to the realm by the blessings of Panthalassa. However, her inherent form was not that of a animal like we typically know - but of a great tree. Initially, the people saw her as inefficientand were ultimately unappreciative of Panthalassa’s creation.
Only a few generations later....and knowledge of Chunhua was completely abandoned.
Her sobs echoed in the forest, alone with no-one to care or hear her self loathing.
Despite falling into depression and neglect from humanity, her instincts and convictions as a guardian never changed - she was to infinitely love and protect the Realm of Sound with all her might.
Unable to move, she focused all her magical energy into growing her roots and spreading throughout the entire realm, and her days revolved around listening to everyone within the realm - their happiness, their woes, their anger, and their indifference alike.
Even more generations later, famine struck, and the forest life that once flourished rapidly decayed by an unknown dark energy that poisoned the land's fertility. All plants and most animals withered and died, with the exception of Chunhua herself, that stood so brilliantly - resistant to the darkness.
With most life gone but her, finally for the first time in her existence, did she stand out to all as something utterly beautiful.
They were unaware she was sentient, nonetheless she became a symbol of hope to the people.
Many traveled far to water her, pray to her branches and attempt to nourish the surrounding soil.
The love of her people gave her purpose, more validation and she grew to heights she never imagined.
She could feel the woe of the people, deep within the earth - their desire to carry on, and adoration of Chunhua left her searching for a greater power within herself to save those she loved... Using the inherent spirit of Panthalassa's influence within her, she summoned an ancient wisdom to enlighten her.
It was mid-March, when her green leaves burst into an array of colors - flowers bloomed into a wind storm that covered the grounds of the entire land - their seeds sprouting new life! New creatures that could fight back against the darkness, new plants that resisted it as well and cleansed the air of its influence.
In a short time, the forests of Sound were restored, fruits engorged and the land was green once again.
The three largest blossoms that bloomed would become the Guardians the Sound Realm knows today. Chunhua’s spirit left the tree; her life and magical energy splitting amongst the Guardians of Sound who, like other Realms, took on the form of animal spirits.
Chunhua's former vessel remains alive and well today, in the very center of the Sound Realm - the largest tree in the entire world.
Within the same forest, smaller trees of the same nature as she grow, and they are named the Blooming March; as they endure their full seasonal cycles on a random day in the month of March.
Our Mayor (who will be making an appearance this Vibrance Day!), being born in the Realm of Sound, harvested one of these trees to bring to Voltra with the help of four others that helped found this realm.
What once was simply ruins from one of the forgotten realms, nourished into this wonderful place we all call home.
Thanks to bringing a Blooming March here, the soil of this realm was able to become fertile once again.
We celebrate Vibrance Day as we celebrate other cultures such as that found in the Sound Realm.
We celebrate the return of life and the vibrance of nature, through the Vibrance Day Festival.
All in one day, the tree will bud, flourish green with multicolored blossoms, and fade into a gold and red foliage.
And those blossoms just so happen to make a delicious pot of tea.
Rumor and tradition has it, that if you drink from the same cup as someone else, it will cause your souls to bond.
A typically romantic notion, popular with the youth.
There's this fancy tree that originated in the Sound Realm, that goes through 4 seasonal shifts on one random day in March.
Legend has it that this was Sound's very first "Guardian", but when the Realm needed saving from darkness, she gave her life and sprouted three flowers that gave birth to the three guardians the Sound Realm knows today.
Voltra's mayor is one of the founders of our home, and he took one of the miniature versions of the Guardian Tree that people have aptly named "The Blooming March" and brought it to a realm with dead soil and ruins.
With its help, the soil flourished again and our mayor along with a few of his friends were able to make the ruins their new home: Voltra.
On the day it blooms, people get together to brew tea from its flowers. Folklore has it that if you drink from the same cup of March Tea with somebody else, your souls will bond. How romantic.

*What are these flowers near my currency?:
This is event currency, these roses and lavender are exclusive to specifically this event.
You may accrue flowers via posting in forums - this is the break-down of flower earning rates:
Event forum: 10-15 Roses/Lavender
Games/Undercurrent: 0-2 Roses/Lavender
General Forums: 3-5 Roses/Lavender
*What are the flowers spent on?:
For this event you have two options to exhaust your flowers. Firstly, if you head over to Joyful Jamboree by clicking the image below, you will eventually see event-specific clothing sets are for sale specifically using roses and lavender.
The event items will be dropping on odd-numbered days this event until 7 items in total are available.
Additionally,
if you find yourself having an exorbitant amount of currency, you can head on over to NPC "First Love" Voting! and use flower power to cast your vote for an event exclusive activity!!
Whoo, boy I'm curious which NPC will win that contest!

*Will there be any games?:
Each Chapter (seven in total) will have an activity of sorts to accompany the story. Each chapter will last two days but games will only be held during the first day of each chapter.
Each chapter game shall begin at differing times as to attempt to accommodate Volties as much as possible, so please note the times listed at the end of this post.
*What do I get for participating in games?:
At the end of the event, anyone who participated in the activities will receive an event set for free for each chapter they partook in.

Voltra's Vibrance Day Festival
Love is in the fresh, Spring air!
Join all of us here in celebration of new life, and cultural appreciation for all the realms!
I'm totally stoked to show everyone what we have in store!
I'm extra excited since rumor has it, my father, the mayor of Voltra will actually have time to join!
It's been so long since we had some quality father-daughter time.

When I was a kid my brother and I used to spend about a week with Grandma leading up to Christmas. I think it was a good excuse to get rid of us while our parents went shopping for and/or wrapping our presents, but I always enjoyed going so I didn't even notice. I'm sure it was a nice break for my parents. XD They'd come back on Christmas Eve and then on Christmas Day after presents were exchanged among my immediate family, my extended family would come over and we'd to a secret santa exchange (we usually drew names at Thanksgiving). Looking back, it's kind of amazing because I know how hard it is now to get people together for the holidays. I'm thankful that I had that opportunity to spend time with them all back then.
Now that my Grandmother is gone and my extended family is getting older and more spread apart, I really only celebrate with my parents and brother each year. We eat dinner, exchange gifts, and play board games. Naps also happen often. XD

It's totally challenging getting everyone's schedules to line up! Even this Solstice me and Viv were apart for a few
Days so busy! It sounds like you guys still have it thriving in spirit though and I'm pleased to hear it.
Nothing wrong with naps either! Dang, I wish there was a national napping week! Especially in this chilly
weather where we just wanna snuggle up with some toasty cocoa. I hope your Solstice has been going well. :vanora_heart:

Sorry I've been mega busy guys! I plan to respond to everyone's traditions after tomorrow.
It's just hard to carry a conversation from the top of a GIANT tree, but I'll be climbing down
soon. Totally grateful for us to be able to share in these memories together.
