@Mandy Amour: sometimes tablets don't support all programs. though sometimes you need to adjust how hard and soft of pen pressure to get for smooth lines.

@Mandy Amour: did you download the drivers for the tablet? sometimes you need to restart your computer.

@Mandy Amour: yeah it'll definitely take some time but will be fun too!

mine is like...7 years old. last summer spent money replacing a swollen battery which in turn fried everything bit the monitor. so it's just a monitor at this point. I use separate keyboard and mouse and it runs on just 4gb ram.

tho I'm debating if i should buy parts piece by piece to eventually build it or buy it in one go. lol

@Mandy Amour: Ooo fun.
I was window shopping looking at my screen tablet i want. roughly will cost me $500 but I also need to replace and build my own pc. this laptop on its last legs lol

@Mandy Amour: I don't even remember my first art piece on my tablet as i got my current one a year or so ago. but I do have my first attempt at painting vs my latest.

mine was stressful. learned skillshare does not charge monthly so it nearly billed me $200 if I decided to pay for a membership after trial and that was more than I could afford.

other than that my week went alright. need to paint something and edit the final part to my Speedpaint to slap on tiktok.

oof yikes I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better soon.

@Mandy Amour: trust me, there will always be more improvement to see. I thought the same in 2019 and I see how much better I've improved since then. even compared to last year my work has greatly improved.

I don't often do a before and after. I just have slideshow of progress since I forget to record my process. but my work on tiktok people like XD

@Mandy Amour: I don't procrastinate on purpose. I have adhd so it just makes me avoid things I want to do. finished editing part 1 of an old Speedpaint but may repost it on tiktok since I posted it too late at night.

yeah, it's mostly just balancing hand and eye coordination.

@Mandy Amour: Yeah, getting used to it for some can take some time.
I adjusted well, but i know some struggle a lot.
but I can always help if you struggle with programs' UI if that ever is a problem.

Also the cool thing with tablets is if they come with shortcut keys it can make your process easier to maneuver.

No plans really, maybe just grocery shopping and doing some paintings.
Finished a fanart piece, but have another one planned out in the works so i need to also start that.
Also might finish editing a speed paint so i can upload it to my tiktok after months of procrastination. XD

@Mandy Amour: yeah true. I often wait for tablet sales from XP pen. they always have sales since they give me nonstop ads of it on my YouTube lolol.

@Mandy Amour: sounds like a great idea. for me I needed something that just worked with my workload.
tho now wish I got a screen tablet XDD
but my screen tablet is $500 which is on the less expensive but still out of budget for me lol.

@Mandy Amour: mine is like extremely off. my laptop outputs everything in a very blue/gray tone. its so annoying.

you'll need a tablet I think with the highest pen pressure which is about 8,195 levels I think? most tablets have that.
for smoother lines I also adjust my pen smoothing lines on my art program. I use clip studio but I know most programs have a stability setting for smoother lines.

@Mandy Amour: I would go for a non display in the beginning just so you can adjust to it easier. those are usually only around $100. sometimes less. but there are some less expensive options for screen tablets if your set on a display tablet.

I have XP pen's decro Pro which I got on sale. roughly over $100.
I do plan to save up for the artist 12 2nd gen.
but mostly because my laptop screen volors are so off lol.

pinterest is how I find references to study.
I honestly save whatever I feel is useful for my art lol or just things I want to try to draw.
