@KairoSama: Congratulations! That must be very important to you.
Remember to work up gradually when you wear it, and pay attention to what your body tells you.

Congratulations!
Remember to first wear it a few hours and slowly work your way up.
And never ever wear it at night.
And always lay flat on your back when putting it on and make sure to not get anything in the zipper. That freaking hurts.

@KairoSama: they’re always a struggle in the beginning, because you have to learn from experience how to put the on.

After my chest surgery, I needed a special binder. That thing was so hard, 3 people were needed to get it on. XD

@KairoSama: after surgery, I needed a special binder to keep the swelling down.
Because of delivery problems, it didn’t get here until I was actually having surgery. The neighbour who would pick me up, took it with me.

When I had to put it on, one side of the zipper under 1 arm and the other part was under the other.
I tried it on, didn’t work.
My neighbour helped. Nothing.
The nurse got called, who dealt with it at least once a week, and we were almost there.
Then the stepfather of someone who was in my room got called over and we got it on.

@Tuijp: holy shit thats a lot of effort to go through
was that for top surgery or something else? whatever it was, that was EFFORT

@KairoSama: yeah that was top surgery. Had to wear that vest for 8 weeks and, after wearing it for a while, it came on and off easier.

@Tuijp: oh sweet B) thats something to look forward to LMAO
do they still have u wear that? or has it all changed now?

Donator — Winchester Posted 5 years ago ( 2019/07/9 09:40:45 )

@KairoSama: that thing was actually pretty good. After top surgery, you aren’t allowed to move your arm up higher than your shoulders. That vest will make sure you don’t.
No I don’t. I had the surgery and everything is flat now.

@KairoSama: not sure if they require it everywhere. When I just had surgery and that vest wasn’t there yet, they bandaged my chest and that dropped down a lot. Then I needed to call a nurse to get my ‘bra‘ back up.

My hair is short, so need to brush it.
Anything else above shoulder level was either with a chair or wait for my brother to come over and do it for me.
