My houseplant flowered today!!

I'm kinda new to houseplant life, but I heard that if a houseplant flowers that means that it's really happy in it's environment!
This is a lemon lime prayer plant that I got last summer and this is the first time that it has bloomed!

There is also lots of new growth. You can see the scars from my cat not treating it right and the stress on it from when I moved two months ago. It's pretty happy in this new apartment.

Ooh, pretty! I want to get into houseplant/vegetable growing life but I have no idea where to start, lol.

@Starry: I wasn't sure where to start either. You can start out small with 2-3 plants and go from there. I would say in the beginning either do houseplants or veggies/fruits. I think they are different when taking care of them.
If you get houseplants, make sure they are pet safe if you have pets.
If you get veggies, make sure it's one's that you really like. They harvest after a few years can be big, but totally worth it.

@totalanimefan: I've heard from a few people that tomatoes and peppers are pretty easy to grow so I've been thinking about starting with those. I have two cats so that's another concern with indoor plants. I have space outside though, just gotta figure out what tools and stuff I need lol.

@Starry: you should grow the foods! You can look with google or YouTube to see videos of how other people do it. Those have been helpful for me.

@Wildfire: Thanks <3 It's a Lemon Lime Maranta. It would actually love Florida because it loves humidity and never being cold lol. This winter on here was hard on it lol. The cat likes to bite it if I try to give the plant attention instead of him (little shit). Its pet safe luckily.
