@Tsundererra: It's very purdy! I struggled to find a shirt to hide my shameful nudity. But at least I have some now! XD

@Bioshock: Nice to meet another old Gaia fan! Thank you for your kind words~ Btw, I love your username! And your English is fine. I can understand you perfectly. I’m glad my English seems ok for now, but I will probably slip up and make the funkiest worded sentence you’ll ever see.

@Totalanimefan: The only thing we can do is to treat others with kindness regardless of where they’re from so we don’t continue the trend.
I live in northern Virginia, but I travel to NYC and NJ a lot for concerts and to hang with friends.
It’s awesome that both you and your husband studied Japanese. It must make traveling there so much easier. Japanese people love it when foreigners speak their language, so it must’ve blown their mind to have a husband and wife both be able to.
And 2021 sounds like an ideal time to go. Tokyo is already crowded during the summer, and I don’t even want to imagine how it will be during the Olympics.
I’m just glad the items I pulled randomly all match. My goal was to get my avatar fully clothed, but the items did that and more.

@Kira: Hello! Living overseas was exciting, and a wonderful experience, but I’m glad to be home.

@Dragonus Luciferius: Thank yoooou~ I was surprised that our avatars came fully naked, and even more surprised that we have to buy our own facial features. That money could’ve gone to more clothes. ;~; But at least we are both clothed now.

@icarus: Thank you! I am in awe of how friendly everyone is. I hope it always stays like this.

@bum: Thank you very much! Your avatar is very cute. I was trying to do a theme with those colors, but I didn’t have enough volts to do it. I have the skater set from the crate, but nothing else I have matches it at the moment. One day~ :viocry:

@Tsundererra: exactly. We just gotta great people with kindness. Oh NoVA I’m going three next month. I’m going to DC for an anime con. I’m also going to see Bradio and the DJ from M-Flo when I’m there!
Do you have any favorite Japanese artists?
You pulled it off really well. You got a better avatar than me haha

@vengeance: Hello and thank you! I like your avatar, you look like a holy skater.

@bum: That’s very impressive! I took a peek at the item museum and I don’t think I could ever try to collect everything. I hope you can accomplish your goal! I only have two past items on my wishlist as of right now, so I’d like to help and donate when I’m better off.

@Dragonus Luciferius: This is true! Not a fan of the saggy grey undies I’ve seen on other sites. I also like how we can change the gender of our avatars whenever we want. So much potential!

@Totalanimefan: Yesssss, you know about NOVA! You must be going to Otakon. I was planning on getting a table at the artist’s alley, but I already made plans on that weekend. :viodead: But let me know how it goes! I didn’t know they got Bradio and the DJ from M-Flo this year! Everyone is going to be dancing their butts off for sure.
Omgggg I LOVE Japanese music. I miss being able to karaoke in private rooms, singing my fav Japanese songs. ToT I’ve been a long time fan of Arashi, AKFG, Oishi Masayoshi, T.M. Revolution, Mizuki Nana, Greeeen, Kalafina, and Utada Hikaru. I got into AAA, Spyair, Ikimono-Gakari, Vocaloid cover singers, and fripside because of my students. There’s a ton more I love, but these are from the top of my head. What artists do you like?
And nonsense, your avatar is wholesome and super cute. Makes me want to go to the beach.

@Tsundererra: OMG did we just become best friends?!? I totally go to Otakon every year and I have since 2010. We should hang out at the con sometime if you are free one year. Also if you have gotten a table other years we have probably walked by each other. What a small world!!
Yeah they are gonna be there.
I love so many of those artists! I also love Namie Amuro (her stuff was just added to Apple Music streaming service!!!)
TMR, AKFG, Mai-K, Flow, Man with a Mission, Do As Infinity, Bump of Chicken, Chemistry, Home Made Kazoku, Kenshi Yonezu, Utada Hikaru to name some others

@Totalanimefan: Omg, I started going to Otakon from 2009-2015, and I did a booth with a friend like twice, so we might’ve run into each other! We should def hang out one year. Do you usually come for the whole weekend?

Oh man, Namie Amuro! I think she retired last year or something, but she sang some good anime OP and ED. None of my students know who she is, but all the teachers loved her. That generational gap!
I also love Do As Infinity (always karaoke’d their Inuyasha song), Flow, Bump of Chicken, Chemistry (FMA!). Radwimps, Sid, and Monkey Majik, and Does are also good.
Your husband sounds like an awesome dude with great taste.

@Tsundererra: Oh yeah I come for the whole weekend ^^ I wish that you were coming this year too. It's way better in DC than in Baltimore. It was far too crowded in the BCC. In DC you have lots of room to breathe plus a bigger AA, Dealers Room and concert space to name a few.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I like Crystal Kay, SID and Radwips haha. I love Does's music from Gintama. I don't know any of their other stuff though. ^^;
I love to sing DAI's Inuyasha songs <3 Namie did Come from Inuyasha and then Fight Together and Hope from One Piece.
Yeah I LOVE Namie. I have since I was in middle/early high school. She's a role model to me. I love her so much. I am sad that she retired. I'm happy for her but I never got to see her live before she retired. I can't believe that none of your kids know her? She was really popular up until she retired. Still having #1s.
We have some Japanese karaoke places where I live and I LOVE going. I sing only Japanese music haha

@SirLionelNigelConrad: Actually, yes! It’s a trend I saw pick up more my last year and a half there. Like my first year, there were a few girls who were secret fans of BIGBANG, but near the end it was like 90% of my kids loved TWICE or BTS. I’d be trying to teach them the alphabet or new vocabulary, and they’d freak out whenever they heard “twice”, “fire”, “T”, “black”/“pink” or other keywords. I was all for it because I’m a big kpop fan too.

@Totalanimefan: I wish I was going now too, but I’m glad you come here every year. And D.C. is a big improvement from Baltimore. It gets scary at night in Baltimore, and I was always scared to go alone or wander around at night.

Yaaaasssss, Crystal Kay! Ayumi Hamasaki was another biggie like Namie back in the day. I used to love them so much when I was in middle school/high school. I was sad for Namie because it felt like the Japanese entertainment industry was forcing her out because they thought she was getting too old. Meanwhile Gackt, Arashi, and other male entertainers who are around her age are still thriving. The teachers were shocked too that the kids didn’t know who she was, but to be fair, they also didn’t admit to knowing Spyair yet all of them have watched Haikyuu and Gintama. :vioblank:
I found out about Does from Gintama, which is like one of my top animes.

I’m jealous you have Japanese karaoke places, but that’s the perk of Cali. We have a higher Korean population, so we get Korean karaoke places that might have Japanese songs, but it’s like $30-60 an hour and they’re outdated.

@Tsundererra: Thank you. I am in love with the Knick-Knack item.
I saw you talking about Japanese music in another comment and I listen to Japanese music as well. Mainly rock and metal bands however. I have also seen a bunch live.

@Tsundererra: What are you doing that weekend instead?
Yeah the city itself is also better now. I love DC. I love the food there too. Like I had never been to DC before Otakon, but now it's like wow I would live there if I could. It's an awesome city that doesn't get near enough love.
Yeah I wonder why she retired, was she over it, or what it something else? I feel like if it was because she was getting old that's dumb because her shit was still selling out! lol Some Like it Hot from Spyair is a top played song by me haha. Gintama has a lot of great music to it. I'm 'only' on ep 250-ish oh Gintama so I'm not up to date. I love watching that show with my husband.
Top animes ever for me would be like One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho, Gintama, Ruroni Kenshin, CardCaptors Sakura, Fruits Basket, FMA, Inuyasha, Bebop, Sailor Moon, DBZ, Haruhi, Full Metal Panic for the classics.
For some of the newer anime that's great would be like Boku no Hero, Golden Time, Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun, No Game No Life, and some others that I watch seasonally.

@vengeance: I’m not too familiar with Japanese metal, but I do love jrock. What groups do you listen to? I had to sneak a listen to Home Made Kazoku, and I am kicking myself for not knowing about them sooner. They remind me of a mix of Monkey Majik, Uverworld, and Orange Range.

@Totalanimefan: Some friends from my study abroad are visiting the states, and we’re actually going to be in Florida! They want to go to Disney World and then to Universal’s Studio’s Wizarding World. I wasn’t even thinking of Otakon when they booked their tickets, and only realized my mistake when I was about to buy the early bird tickets. :viosweat:

If you love D.C. that much, you should visit during the Cherry Blossom Festival! It’s like an explosion of Japanese culture for one week. There’s one part of the festival that feels like a mini convention because people are cosplaying and selling anime merch.

I think I’m also around episode 250-ish, but I’ll have to check. I need to get back into watching it, but it’s so hard to stop once I start. OMG YOU KNOW GEKKAN SHOUJO NOZAKI-KUN! That is another top for me, as is Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon. I’m also a fan of all the oldies you listed. Though I can’t ever look at Rurouni Kenshin the same since the manga creator got caught with child porn... I also liked Gundam (Gundam Wing and G Gundam), Evangelion, Outlaw Star. For new animes, I love Haikyuu, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho, and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. I like One Piece too, but I got too far behind to ever catch up. ;~; My friend is currently trying to get me to watch Tokyo Ghoul and My Hero Academia, so we’ll see how that goes.

@Tsundererra: A whole lot. A couple of them are: Alexandros, Anthem, Coldrain, Dir en Grey, I Don't Like Mondays, Linch, Loudness, Merry, Uverworld. Back in the days I also listened to Alice Nine and The Gazette but not anymore.

@vengeance: I LOVE Alexandros! A teacher I worked with introduced me to them, and I listened to them nonstop for a month. Man, Dir en Grey is an oldie, but a good one. I got hooked on their song “Cage”. The Gazette is another good old one, and I still listen to them. Another oldie I still listen to is Hyde. I used to listen to Alice Nine and Gackt, but not anymore. I’m surprised you don’t like Uverworld, but different strokes I guess.
I’ll look into Anthem and Coldrain since they’re new to me.
