You can cook squash in the microwave. Put it face down in a casserole dish with some water. Idk, how long I think my mom just cooks it until tender

this thing (big butternut squash) says poke holes in it and microwave for like 4 minutes thinkingemoji.jpg
i mean i guess as long as it gets soft enough to put in the blender it doesn't matter too much; i'm gonna mix everything together and then put it in a pot and cook it more anyway

Mmm, maybe get a second opinion? I know she puts it in the water bath so it doesn't burn

That's what I thought. It's not even a little squash. i'll probably just wait til i have the kitchen to myself and use the oven...

ok no i won't cause i'm me, I'm gonna try the microwave first and see what happens cause I have to know

Here's what food network says

To cook squash in the microwave, cut squash in 1/2, scoop out the seeds as if you were cleaning cantaloupe only it will be a little harder. Lay cut side down on a piece of microwave safe plastic wrap placed directly on microwave bottom or plate. Cook on high in 5 minute intervals until completely softened and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes for 1/2 an acorn squash. Cook times will vary depending upon the size and variety of your squash.

ALWAYS PING ME

I once had to cook down a large pumpkin. I had to hollow it out, cut the skin off, cut it into chunks and then boil it down. Took a couple hours but then I had soft pumpkin to use for baking.

Yeah, basically any cling wrap should be microwave safe
