Maddie had so close to allowing herself to doze off, until she heard her name and mention of dinner. "Dinner?" She murmured quietly, quickly sitting up and jerking her arm. She bit back a curse and stood. "I'm coming She called quietly after a moment.

How could she have forgotten about being told dinner would be ready? Now she was embarrassed. Maddie wrapped a loose bed jacket around herself and left the room, her eyes avoiding Ezra's when she opened the door.

Allen nodded lightly to the acceptance of his invitation, and listened quietly as she spoke.

She was a student and usually only worked for Mr. Tanner on some nights she needed to get away from her aunt. He could understand after his intercounter with the woman.

He offeres Adira a gentle smile. "My dear, as I mentioned when the proposal was made, you are free to come and go as you please. I certainly don't expect you to stay at the house all day. You have a life of your own, live it to the fullest." He said calmly, hoping she understood his gesture.

Allen would've blinked if he wasn't wearing the bandages around his eyes. She wanted to talk about his offer, which was normal. He did offer it without giving much details. He smiled. "It's only natural, we've only just met." He said calmly. "Feel free to ask me anything, and I'll give an honest answer." He said.

"And if you'd like, you're welcome to join me for dinner, just to get a look at the house yourself." Allen offered.

Maddie stood under the water for a good five minutes before even starting to wash herself, just enjoying the feel of the warm water. She'd begun to use the puff to wash herself down, carefully. She had more than her share of scars from previous fights and a few more recent bruises and such. After rinsing off, she tried to wash her hair without using her injured arm too much. Maybe she'd broken it, but she didn't think it was a big deal. It didn't feel broken, sprained maybe..

There was a reason she didn't say anything when she'd met Ezra. She didn't want to go to a hospital. Maddie didn't do well in hospitals. She knew if she was careful with her arm, and refrained from using it, it'd get better if it wasn't broken.

She soon stepped out of the shower and dried herself off with the towel, before slipping into the clean clothes she'd been given and carefully putting the sling back on before leaving the bathroom and sitting on the bed in the bedroom. How did this even happen? Maddie slowly breathed out and laid down on the fluffiest blanket she'd ever laid on, since becoming a 'street rat.'

Allen, though he couldn't see, could hear it in her voice when she spoke and offered her a gentle smile. "My apologies, Adira." He said. Maybe he'd been too formal? That's just how we was used to addressing young women. He hadn't meant to embarrass her.

"It's a lovely day we're having, isn't it?" He asked, just trying to change the topic to something a little more casual.

@CycloneKira:

Maddie almost wished she hadn't said anything, until the woman shouted and hurried to her. "Well.. I.. N-no.." She murmured quietly as the woman spoke to her. She was still wondering why Ezra had even talked to her to begin with.

She stayed where she was when the woman left, and stayed still with her arm out like instructed as the woman made a make-shift sling for her. "Yes, thank you.." She spoke quietly. Maddie bowed a little and picked up the clothes before disappearing in the bathroom to take a shower, setting aside the clothes and carefully slipping out of the sling to set it aside. She couldn't very well shower with it on, or it'd get wet.

She turned on the water and closed the door before slowly undressing, moving her injured arm as little as possible. Once shed of the wet clothes, she stepped inside the shower and closed it, letting the steamy water warm her cold skin before doing anything.

Allen lightly turned his head when he heard footsteps indicating someone was approaching, and smiled warmly when Adira spoke. "Lady Adira, good evening." He greeted kindly.

"I do hope your aunt hadn't given you too much trouble yesterday." He spoke gently, remembering the nasty woman. His face was actually still a little sore from her striking him.

@CycloneKira:

Maddie listened as the woman spoke, not having caught her name earlier since she was distracted by everything else. She nodded lightly, her eyes focused on the bed and clothes that were neatly folded. She'd never seen such a fluffy looking bed before..

"Thank you." She said softly before slowly approaching the bed and carefully picking up the clothes. She paused for a moment, then glanced at the woman. "Do you have a sling I could use?" She asked hesitantly. A sling for her arm.

@CycloneKira:

Maddie jumped a little when the woman suddenly voiced her appearal and scolded the man for hanging up a yet coat, her hands holding together in front of herself firmly as her eyes focused on her feet.

She tensed some when she felt a hand in her arm, snd simply nodded. "Thank you.." She murmured quietly when addressed by the woman and quietly followed her when it was time.

She slowly moved her eyes to glance around as they walked, taking in her surroundings as she was in an unfamiliar place.

Allen was lost in his moment of bliss, listening to the leaves and other sounds of nature. He heard faint whispers, but paid them no mind. It wasn't until he picked up on Adira's scent that he paused.

He turned slightly and began to walk in the direction where the benches usually were, holding hus hand out as to not walk into it and sat down when he found the old remodled bench.

@CycloneKira:

Maddie was thankful Ezra didn't ask further, and went back to quietly watching the rain until he spoke again. Letting her know they had arriver at the house.

When he opened the door, she blinked a couple of times as if surprised and carefully got out of the car, her arms lightly wrapped herself.

She'd follow him insidw without saying much, and keeping her eyes downcast.

Allen went home, headed up the stairs once inside and into his study where he made a few little bottles of medicine, using the herbs he'd gotten from the nursery and a couple of other things.

Aftering drinking the liquid, he fell asleep and didn't stir until morning. He'd gotten up and went outside just to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, meeting Adira and the events following lingering in his imagination.

Early evening he took a stroll through the woods and let his feet guide him to the park, near the nursery. It was nice out, why stay cooped up all night?

@CycloneKira:

Maddie glanced at him once more through the mirror when he spoke. "Just that." She answered quietly when he asked about her 'home'.

"I don't think they did it on purpose, might've been some reckless kids just wanting to have fun." She spoke quietly, lowering her eyes. She knew that wasn't the case, but she wouldn't telk him that.

@CycloneKira:

Allen waited patiently for her to speak, and nodded to her words. He understood it was a lot to take in, since they were strangers. "Of course." He spoke gently.

"Oh, there's no need Miss Adira. I can find my way home." He spoke, feeling bad about her helping him home. If she saw the house now, it might make her feel conflicted about his offer.

He then said his goodbyes to the two if them and started to head home.
