Posted in Can't change site theme? [ANSWERED, thanks!] Posted 4 years ago

I have tried going into my settings to change the site theme, because it's mid-December and as much as I love Halloween, I'm ready to shed the Trick-or-Treat theme already. But it hasn't gone anywhere, nor does choosing one of the other themes from the drop-down menu change it. Whenever I hit "Save Changes", it tells me my password is incorrect--regardless of whether I enter my password into the "current password" field beside "change password". I do not want to change my password; I just want to change the site theme. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

Posted in I tried a 2013 cough drop Posted 4 years ago

Bruh that's disgusting. I had a cough drop that was only 1-2 years old and that was enough to make it inedible. Soft and sticky with a weird texture, no thanks. The ancient cherry Sucrets of unknowable age have honestly fared much better, but those are only for dire emergencies.

Posted in Got CORE via DA :o) Posted 4 years ago

I don't have it; I only sort of recently started using DA again and don't do much with it besides occasionally posting art. I can count my watchers on one hand and the only real benefit Core has that would mean much of anything to me is the ability to change your username... which I'm salty about because you didn't used to need Core to do that. So it's basically a minimum 5$ for a name change, which is extravagant. So when I started using DA again, I just made a whole new account instead.

Posted in sh*tty holiday support thread Posted 4 years ago

Well, I was "lucky" enough to have stomach pains on Thanksgiving which prevented me from going to that family gathering. But now Christmas is coming up, and I probably won't have any way of escaping that (short of a hospital stay, which I'd rather not since I have work to go to--but probably not on Christmas day, alas) since people will just come here. I should have been moved out years ago, and could have if the person who owns the house I was supposed to be renting hadn't messed it up by hiring cheap. Now it's still not livable and I'm still stuck at Grandma's. And I'm only getting older... But I can't afford rent anywhere else, so what am I supposed to do? Bring on yet another holiday wasted being miserable and stuck in someone else's house, surrounded by people I either barely know or can't stand to be around, all faking nice like everything is normal when it's not and never has been.

Thank you for this thread btw, this is a very good idea.

what is this garbage on my new work schedule? the times are all over the place. get off at 10pm one day, come in at 7am the next?? I'd be lucky to get 6-7 hours of sleep max, given the fact that I don't live in the freaking store and do actually have to take time to drive home, then get my shit together and wind down for bed.. then I gotta wake up and not have time to actually wake up or have breakfast or anything I guess, since I won't get home early enough to go to bed in time to wake up early enough to HAVE time to do anything before rushing out the door. You get penalized for being late, but god forbid you actually have time to sleep or get ready so that you're not late.
I just don't get why they wouldn't give people consistent shifts. Wouldn't it be so much easier to have certain people always working at certain times to make sure things are covered? Instead of this willy-nilly "need somebody for X time, grab any ol' person regardless of what shift they just got done working" bs? Retail I stg, it's like they got monkeys making the schedules. I get the whole "we only care about our money, not your time or health" crap they like to do, but screwing around with people's work-life balance hurts the company, too. Because that's exactly how you get people coming in late, calling in, and/or just not giving a shit about the job they do when they get there.

Hopefully all this raging will be premature and it'll either be a one-time thing or a mistake, and/or the manager will be nice enough to work with me on it and have a more consistent schedule. But regardless of what the case is with this particular job, I've seen enough of it being done at other jobs to be more than a little wary. Guy at my Walmart job was consistently being put on those same back-to-back "get off late/come in early" shifts for months before they finally listened and agreed to fix his schedule.

i bought 2 bundles and only got one capricorn >n>

english/history/science were easy, and then there were my horticulture and business electives. they were my favorites. i slept through math because no one helped me when i was struggling, so i just got further and further behind. it reached a point when i literally had no idea what was going on in class any more. i would just copy someone's work when i got to class, sleep through the lesson, and repeat for my D grade. did just fine in everything else. except PE. may god punish whoever invented PE.

@Kira: Whenever I get my own place, I wanna try making my own milks, spreads, etc. Will probably be better for me and taste better. I wasn't super impressed with the oat milk I tried, but I didn't hate it. Didn't give me a stomach ache, at least. Pea milk has been closest to dairy so far, but not quite "there" enough for me to pay so much more for it (and have to go to a different store that's farther away), so I have only bought it twice.
I am still hoping one day they'll make something that mimics the actual taste of dairy milk, though. I heard about Rebel Kitchen's "mylk" and their formula sounds promising on paper, but it's not sold in the US. If I could figure out the right amounts of everything, though, that might be another thing to consider trying at home.

@Kira: I've cut back on animal products, especially meat, but I don't know if it's gonna be possible for me to totally let go of dairy (unless I just quit having the things that call for it altogether, but I haven't reached that point yet). I do my best to be mindful of the sources when I can, which is one reason I also tend to avoid almond milk--but another reason is 'cause it tears up my digestive system, as do most "nut milk" products I've tried. IDK if it's the stabilizers in them or just too much of whatever's in nuts, but more than a little bit of that stuff (like, less than what you'd use on a bowl of cereal) is no good for me. But I still try to keep an eye out for substitutes I can use, and while the sweetness of it prevents me from using it in cooking, soy milk hasn't given me as much of an issue as some of the other things. So as someone who also freaking loves eggnog, I figured this was worth a try. Unfortunately, it kind of just left me wanting the real thing. >:^/

Posted in Today's To-do List Posted 4 years ago

I should probably make a to-do list instead of treating every day I don't have work like a sick day and just hanging out in my room in my pajamas... uhhh. I'll... try to.. put my clean clothes away today I guess. There we go. I do need to check my tire pressure, but it's cold out.

Posted in What are you currently drinking? Posted 4 years ago

Silk Nog. It's OK I guess, but doesn't hold a candle to regular ol' eggnog in terms of flavor or texture. Was hoping it would be closer in at least one of those aspects. Ehhh.
