I thought that the blank days on the paper calendar were just extra days. like you go through your 30 or so and then you have the extra days and then the next month started.

@jolly: Overall, TX is very friendly in my experience. I've lived in the smaller cities and the bigger cities. The smaller ones are extremely friendly and everyone smiles at you and talks to you (which is exhausting as an introvert). The bigger ones are less likely to have random people start up conversations with you, but still friendly enough.
