@cedes: That was a clever trick. It made me feel really bad for a second, because I thought that I was copying someone else's avatar, since the post was from before I joined. Took me reading some other posts to figure it out. XD

@Slytherclaw: I know, right? I'm very subtle about it. :P

I'm honestly surprised, too. I do wish I'd been able to manage not knowing about Alola forms, though. Because that was only spoiled for me by one group of people, right after the announcement. I didn't even look at the box art, or watch the pre-title clip-cinematic until after I beat the game. (Incidentally, that meant that the exclusion of HMs genuinely surprised me.)

I'm in much the same boat as Slytherclaw when it comes to the games. I went into Moon (mostly) blind, so, that was enjoyable, but there wasn't really that much to do post-game, I found. I'm not competitive at all, so my teams got destroyed in the battle facilities, and I'm not one for breeding or Shiny hunting. The tabletop's definitely spoiled Shinies for me, especially. "What do you mean it's only a different colour? What can it do that every other member of its species can't?" XD
I do go back to Emerald every so often. The fact that it's before the Physical/Special split always throws me off, though...

Okay, as an addendum to this, since it seems to be browser-related while using IE (I was able to do all of this fine on Chrome, so, I might need to start using that for this), I'm unable to use arrow keys or select with my cursor while in the comment box of anyone's profile. Any attempts to use arrow keys to move the cursor instead move it to the end. While I can select places in the text, and the cursor appears to show up, if I attempt to type anything it will instead be sent to the end of whatever has been written already.

Well, I should probably poke my head in here, since this is a Pokémon place. Hello, hello!
Posted in Disappearing Volts Posted 7 years ago
Gah. And this is me blundering about with tabs. I'd accidentally chosen the wrong username to begin with, so I'd immediately made a different account, went back to that to check things, and then posted in this tab. Wow, I'm a mess.

Looks like I'm falling in the middle here. I'm 19, almost 20.

Hello, and sorry for apparently continually blundering around in here and breaking things...

Anyways, when I went to bed last night, I had around seventeen thousand volts (I cannot remember the exact number), but this morning I only have about one thousand, seven hundred. And, yes, I'm certain that I didn't go on a shopping spree or anything, and I made sure to check my inventory to see if anything had been bought. The number also does not change based on the browser that I'm in, so it's not that.

@Fozzy: Just thought I'd let you know that in the staff list, you neglected the last 'w' in Slytherclaw's url. Right now it's going to a user not found page.
Posted in Children? Posted 7 years ago
I'm not really a fan of interacting with children until they've reached the age where they can be reasoned with. Unfortunately, the time any given human being reaches that point is infinitely variable. :P

Once they've reached that point, then I'm fine interacting with them, at least as much as other people - I'm an introvert (at least in person), and I'm quite happy just sitting alone, doing my own thing, for hours on end. I've found kids tend to have much more energy, though, so they exhaust me earlier than others do, on average at least.

I don't plan to have kids myself, for many reasons. For one, sometimes I'm a bit lax on taking care of myself (especially in the eating department, whoops)... I don't need the additional pressure of having to care for someone else. For another, I worry about the future. The world as I see it isn't really a place that I'd want to raise a child in. I believe we're reaching a tipping point in our society, and I wouldn't want to risk bringing someone into this world if it's going the wrong way. And, more selfishly, I like my peace and quiet. A kid isn't very conducive to that.

I'm quite fine with people who want kids, though. I just feel that they really... aren't for me. Who knows, though. Something might end up changing my mind.

@Emmett khan: Thanks!

...and seeing your avatar and signature is now, for the first time ever, making me think of Data as a ninja. Maybe that's a sign that I need to sleep.
Posted in Why did you pick your username? Posted 7 years ago
I chose this one because on another site, the username I usually go by was already taken, so I'd had to come up with something on the spot... and, since in many Skype chats I tended to be able to find information faster than others (apparently no one uses Ctrl+F...), so... DataNinja. Also, I'm a programmer, so Data. ...reflecting on it now, though, I've never really been a ninja person.

I picked it here over my traditional username, since I've been informed that that one is basically the epitome of dark and edgy names. Which I found funny, since that had never even occurred to me, but, might as well make an attempt at a better impression.

This is probably my fault for using Internet Explorer, but while using it (Internet Explorer 11, if that matters), I'm not able to click any of the links above topics. (i.e. Mention, Quote, or Edit.) When I was using Google Chrome earlier, I was able to edit one of my posts just fine.

I have already tried clearing my cache and resetting everything. This still might be something on my end, but I just thought I should mention it in case anyone else uses IE and is also having these issues. (Clearly, it means that I just need to make sure all my posts are correct the first time around...)
Posted in My Profile and Apostrophes Posted 7 years ago
Hi there. I've noticed that in the My profile section, in anything except for the bio, any apostrophes will cause a backslash to appear after saving the data (for instance "I'm" turns into "I[backslash]'m"). In addition, any existing backslashes whenever you hit 'save changes' will be doubled (in addition to a new one being added for any apostrophes).

I tested it out with a few other symbols (including forward slash and quotation marks), but it seems as if apostrophes and backslashes are the only things (that I found at least) that do this. Hopefully that helps.

(Oh, as an aside, it might help to sticky the Bug Reports Forum rules. I only saw them because I was looking to see if this issue had already been raised.)

Edit: Okay, apparently backslashs don't show up here...
