And again, as they spoke, Rene noticed that the wrap had practically disappeared. Along with a good amount of the chicken from the pocket of the coat, for she'd brought a bunch out for the kitten.

Erica dug a piece of chicken out of the wrap and set it on the table so that kitten could nom it if it wanted.
"I'm not as young as a I look, either." She then told him out of the blue.
"You said kids in distress kinda thing, I'm not a kid... at least not in the child sense, if that makes sense?"

"I was planning on using what little I have ot buy some fresh ones in the next couple of days, actually." Erica told him.
"So it's ok. I got it covered." She said with a smile. AS they were talking, Rene hadn't noticed that she'd completely devoured what she'd been brought so far.

Erica was quiet for a moment.
"It's fine." She stated.
"There's no open wounds under there." She added.
"And yes, they are old. I haven't replaced them for awhile." She then added, seeming to think that it was normal for someone to have that. Perhaps it was normal for her, but that begged a question - Why?

"Good to know." Erica said with a smile as she took the coat of Rene's off. She was at a rather comfortablet temperature now, and she didn't seen the swimming coat on her.
As she did so, he could see that her left hand, and wrist (up to where the sleeve of her shirt covered, at least) was covered in bandages. They didn't look dirty or anything, just.... they looked dirty. Very diry at that.

"Thanks." Erica said, both to Rene and to the server for the drink.
"And ... yeah... not really wanting to go into that. It's... a curse I acquired from my family. Let's leave itat that." She then said with a sigh.
"How about we focus on the fact that it's bloody warm in here? Thankfully." She added. "I'm actually warming up."

"Ben longer than just the season." Erica told him honestly. On one hand she wasn't sure why shje was telling him that, butat the same time... it was nice to actually be able to tell SOMEONe.
"It's more... I dunno how to explain it. I guess I couldn't stand causing my parents and brother to lose their shit around me." She then said bluntly. She knew she was the cause, even if he didn't know it yet.

But it'd have to be a hefty bribe. Just as a heads up. Lol.
The semi-realistic stuff takes a LOT of time and effort. Far more than anything I could do lined, or traditionally.

Might not look quite as you would expect though.

'I'm on my own." Was all she said for a moment. When Rene gave her an almost pointed look, she just bit her lip.
"I'm a runaway." she then admitted.
