Desiree paused.

"Actually, I literally cannot go without." She told him honestly before sighing and taking them off. She passed them over for him to slide them on his head if he wanted. If he did, he'd notice that they were quite hefty in how they were made, along with what they did.

Granted, she didn't know if he would actually be able to identify what it was that they were good for.

Before accepting the headset back, Desiree did the one thing that would likely catch him by surprised.

She signed something simple.

I'm deaf.

Desiree, who had accepted and replaced the headset after signing what she had.

"These were custom made to my ears and whatnot." She told him honestly.

"From one of my closest friends." She added with a light laugh.

"But yeah. That's why these are so crucial to my image, and me. And why they didn't get in the way on stage."

Desiree nodded.

"I really would appreciate it." Was all she said for a moment.

"There.... are those that would use it against me, and try and capitalise upon my weakness if they were to know."

Desiree nodded, grateful for the topic change.

"That sounds lovely." She commented with a soft smile.

"Lead the way then, my good sir." She added with a light laugh

"Don't trust Kalin's options?" Desiree asked with a light laugh.

"And of course, I would appreciate a water, thank you." She then said after a moment or two.

It was about a month later, and Jaden's show just finished. He was chatting with Vyn in his dressing room, when there was a knock on the door.

"Must've been one last one that you didn't get to. I thought everyone else had already been through. Sorry about that." Vyn said as Jaden went to answer the door. On the other side, there was a dark haired, super fit, golden eyed lady with a couple of rapiers across her back. There were guards coming for her too.

". . Yo! Jaden, get 'em to lay off will ya?" She said, which caused Vyn to pale. She heard that voice, and knew it well.

Vyn was silent before shrugging.

"No worries. I should take off. You've obviously got other people to entertain." She said with a chuckle.

"Oh! Hey Sherwood." The newcomer greeted, with caused Vyn to freeze for a fraction of a second.

". . . . hello Demi..."

"Nothing. She doesn't mean anything." Vyn stated, venom in her tone.

"That's her name." Demi responded.

"Careful, Demitra." Vyn stated.

"You're treading on thin ice." She added.

"Eh? You know I'm not scared of you Sydney." Demi commented, which caused Vyn to just sigh, and heavily at that.

Vyn just growled, her normally dull red eyes seeming to acquire more of a sheen, a vibrance - and one that Jaden knew very well - than before.

"Demitra! I will deal with your lycan ass later you fucking mutt." She snapped before pinching the bridge of her nose.

"And yes. Éliás, I'm your mother." She confirmed before getting to her feet as she'd been seated, and sighed.

"I'll take off." She said. "I realise that you probably want nothing to do with me."

Demi just sighed as Vyn vanished in a portal.

". . . did I fuck something up?" She asked, her voice a bit uneasy.

"I can clear out if you'd prefer.... I just stopped by to give you something, anyway."
