"Exactly." was all Angela said before they all heard a bird's call from outside. It wasn't one they knew though. Before anyone could really puzzle over it, they heard one they did know.

". . . was that Talon?" Angela asked as she made her way to the window and looked out. When she didn't see anything, she looked back to Zeke.

"Considering he's yours, you should probably go look."

Angela followed him outside, curious as to who, or what, was with Talon.

"Protecting him." they heard from a Fae that came up close.

"arrived earlier in day."

Ayla paused as she felt what she did. More accurately, she froze.

No... She thought before getting to her feet and headingfor the door. She poked her head out into the hall before stepping out and locking it, leaving the tablet behind.

It can't be. she thought befor heading off at a rather brisk pace toward what she could feel. She knew this feeling, knew what it meant, but was having a hard time believing it for the momnet. She hadn't seen him since she escaped, knowing that he'd been left behind. He'd told her to leave, stressed it, but she still felt super guilty about it.

Ayla hadn't a chance to recover from bunmping into Zeke before she heard the bird, and her attention was drawn it. As it glided toward her (not that it was far) she just caught it and held it close, almost like a child would a pet. It wasn't hard to tell she was thrilled to see him again.

After about a minute, the bird hopped up onto her shoulder.

"This is Skylar. Thank you so much Zeke." The bird said, sounding a bit more articulate than it had previously.

". . . where did you find him? I'd feared he was lost." It continued before pausing. Ayla and the bird looked to each other before the latter spoke, sounding more as Zeke had heard before.

"I speak for her."

Ayla was silent through zekes explanation before sighing softly.

"I'm quite certain Skylar was.... Vocal with his gratitude." her bird started, however, I have no properly expressed it." Skylar hopped off of Ayla here as she bowed graciously.

" Thank you, so very much."

After Ayla straight Ed up, she just smiled softly.

"You have no idea how much this bird means to me." Skylar said before pausing.

"So go stop her?" he asked. Ayla paused, thinking about it. She wasn't entirely sure they could.

Ayla shook her head.

"She's too chicken and can't fight." Skylar commented with a light laugh. Ayla just motioned to the bird, as if to say 'he's right'.

"Not sure how to help."

Ayla was silent, but that was rather unsurprising.

"She'll do what she can." Was all Skylar said in her place.

"You can be assured of that." he added before pausing and looking at Ayla.

". . . I am not a fighter though." The elf spoke through the bird.

"I cannot fight, and I refuse to." She continued. "But I will help with protections against her influence."

Ayla nodded.

"No worries. She knows she doesn't have to do more than her capabilities." Skylar commented.

"However, the question is whether or not she'll actually listen to that, considering where she came from." He added.

Ayla just nodded.

"Even if she didn't. I do." Skylar commented.

"As does Talon."
