Forums Entertainment Music from when you were young?

Donator Posted 4 years ago ( 2020/01/23 23:38:37 )
What's some music you loved when you were younger? What's some music that makes you feel all nostalgic when you hear it nowadays?
Mine would have to be:
-Breaking Benjamin
-Disturbed
-Godsmack
-Evanescence
-System of a Down
My mom would play a lot of these bands when I was about 5 to 7, and they've just had a special place in my heart since.

Back in the days I was a boyband fan XD So Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Westlife etc. During my teen days I was into emo music like The Used, Matchbook Romance, Starting Line etc.

@vengeance:
Ah yes, in middle school especially I listened to a ton of Motionless in White, Bring Me the Horizon, My Chemical Romance and plenty of other similar bands.

I loved Avril Lavigne's songs when I was a kid. Aside from her, I don't think there were many specific artists that I listened to, but these are some songs that I liked around elementary and middle school:
Shout - Tears for Fears
Drops of Jupiter - Train
Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
Why Not - Hilary Duff
Bring Me To Life - Evanescence
Believe - Cher
Who I Am - Jessica Andrews
I Want It That Way - Backstreet Boys
It's Gonna Be Me - NSYNC
Iris - The Goo Goo Dolls
Me and Charlie Talking - Miranda Lambert
Thank You - Dido
Say My Name - Destiny's Child
...Baby One More Time - Britney Spears
What Goes Around.../...Comes Around - Justin Timberlake
Over And Over - Nelly and Tim McGraw
Etc.

I feel like this list could be a lot longer, but I'll just end it here~

Oh, I also liked some songs from Disney movies, such as:
Colors of the Wind
Just Around the Riverbend
I Won't Say I'm In love
Strangers Like Me
Reflection
I'll Make a Man Out of You

Honestly pretty crazy, was just talking about this exact topic with my boyfriend a couple days ago lol

I don't think I ever really grew out of my old music.
I listen(ed) to a lot of Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Twista, Tupac, Kanye's Graduation album, Gorillaz, and Notorious BIG. Kind of an odd mix lol

Was really digging Steam Powered Giraffe, the Correspondents, Caravan Palace, Alice Francis, Natalia Kills, and Mother Mother back when was in middle/early high school

I still listen to the same oldschool metal now that I did back then. It hasn't lost anything with time. I listen to new stuff, too, but... its hard to get nostalgia from something you never stopped doing

I remember liking the alphabet song: Apple apple aaa, baby baby buh buh buh XD
After that I was in love with the Spice Girls.
Pokemon soundtrack.
Danny Elfman.
My mother always had The Cure blasting in our home. SO that really stuck with growing up.
My parents were always bumping Snoop, Ice Cube etc XD
then in high school I found foo fighters and fell in love with them and then nirvana.
After that I got into ska.
And then I found my way into metal for my last year of high school.
Now i mostly listen to anyhting my mood asks for.

    @sunny: I had an S Club 7 CD.
    @Starlight: Aww Hilary Duff.
    @Amber Lynne: My dad would argue you about Savatage and say Believe is their best song.
    And I also listened to Atreyu back then.

    Hmm, age 4 or 5… What I mainly remember is listening to a lot of Yanni(dad's a huge fan), Fey, Cristian Castro and just a lot of Spanish ballads. I think one of my brothers also listened to a lot of A Perfect Circle and Tool, I think?
