Yup. Otakon is this weekend in DC. I’m traveling from NYC to DC today cause the flight was cheaper and I also want to see more of DC. I’m on the plane right now.
When I land I’m going to have some southern BBQ in Virginia.

Also, it's at the butt end of July next year.

additional: yes, there's an unofficial Ota discord. Several people from the forums are on it.

@totalanimefan: It was a big drama in the youtube community. Youtube hosts this yearly convention called "vidcon" and a youtuber named Tana was PO'd she wasn't invited to be hosted there (she caused legal problems in the past hence her removal from invites.) So she decided to host her own "Tanacon" right down the street from Vidcon the same day . About 5,000 people showed up and she had absolutely nothing set up and people were outside waiting for hours with no food or water getting severely burned. (Most people pre purchased tickets $60) so it was cancelled part way through since nothign was set up and now it's looking like a lawsuit isssue.
