@ghost: Yeah, Dr. Hannibal Lecter is an amazing character. I especially love that quote because of the humor and symbolism. LOL

@dowan: He definitely is so fascinating, so smooth and witty but so dangerous.. and oh yeah! Hannibal Rising! That movie was... something. I only remember parts of it honestly.
There's another movie called Manhunter, I'm not sure if you've seen it? It's a different adaptation of Red Dragon that came out in the 80s and it's REALLY bizarre to see that interpretation of Hannibal Lecter, it's a completely different and really jarring.

@ghost: Haha, I only imagine Hannibal Lecter as one guy and that's Anthony Hopkins. I only vaguely remember ONE scene from that movie and it was like... a boat or something. As I recall, they tried to make it something of a strange action flick? Didn't do much for me.
I haven't seen that one, actually! Looking at pictures, though, his portrayal LOOKS very different. Hm, the actor seems like he could pull it off well though? How is it overall?

@dowan: YEAH the kid was just a weird fit for the movie.. From my memory he could play charming/menacing okay but overall I was like 'eh... you're too young I can't take you seriously...' I VAGUELY REMEMBER THE BOAT? I remember the scene with his little sister, and I remember the scene with the Japanese woman... just snippets. It was though it had a very strange tone overall...
I like Mads Mikkelsen's portrayal of him as well, from the tv show.. I never got past season 2 for some reason though.. But I also am just a big fan of that man in general so I might be biased.
It's good! I mean it's very 80s action/crime thriller so it has a different feel over all but it does set up a really good mood and I enjoyed it a lot. It's interesting seeing a different take on the same story like that.

@ghost: I never actually saw the TV series, but I'm not a big fan of TV in general. I also don't watch a lot of movies. Well... I used to. Then I just stopped to zone out on anime and/or play games. Last real movie I watched was uhm... Babadook (I think), which we talked about in another thread.
Man, I dunno who that actor is. I feel like I know very little when it comes to real media. LOL
Oh, I might prefer it then! I really enjoyed Se7en which seems like it could kind of compare to the atmosphere? Not as old, but an interesting action/thriller if you haven't seen it. And like... Morgan Freeman's in it, and I love that guy soo much.

He's a Danish actor that is only just starting to become more popular over here... I'm going to be pretentious for a moment, I knew him before he got popular because I watched a lot of foreign art films and he was in some orz But's he's an amazing actor! He was the villain in Casino Royale and he's going to be in Kojima's Death Stranding (which Im stoked about but I need a ps4...)
What I love about him though is that he looks so slick and sophisticated in his roles but you see him in real life and he's just.. always wearing tracksuits, chainsmoking and scruffy. He loves just hanging out with fans when they approach him too he's a chill dude.
Oh yeah I love Se7en! I had a big David Fincher fan phase back in the day.. Yeah that movie has some amazing tension and is dripping in mood...
