I'm surprised you got so much grief from the people waiting in line though - couldn't they tell you were working and doing something new, without backup on another register? It could be too that they were more mad at him than they were at you. Kudos for making him happy, though - it sounds like he'll be back, with compliments to your boss! :3

Yeah, I know people can be rather impatient sometimes. But I know it's not always the cashier's fault either. You've mentioned you can only have one person out front at a time. It seems like a silly rule to me (and potentially hazardous) but I'm sure there was some thought put behind it before the company implemented it.

I passed my exam! I even got an exemplary on the hardest and biggest section of the course! Competent is a 75% or higher. I believe Exemplary is a 90% or higher. And yes I'm allowed to post this lol
