@Lithium: My sketchbook arrived a few days ago
but waiting on my erasers.
Says it will not arrive until tuesday tho. :vanora_cry:

I don't often buy art supplies cause im mostly a digital artist
but I am wanting to go deep into the art studies and improve traditional work.

tho i very much underestimated the size of the sketchbook lmao.
But it'll last ages at least lol.

@MoodyBats: I mean, I hate that behavior. As a follower of artists I’m excited for them whenever they post anything, but without pressure to keep to a certain style or schedule.
I think art is something that has to come to you, you know. You can’t force it and have it be good.

It’s great that you’re challenging yourself though! That sounds exciting!

@Lina: Studying fundamentals tho is important.
depending what your goal in art is.

for me i have to study to get better at much
but i can't just only study or i'll burn out.
but i also have to try to advertise work for commissions or shop stuff
cause pandemic and i can't get a job IRL.
It's a hard balance lol.

Yep. i really liked todays prompt i did..but hands...not so good lmao.
But that's why i bought apparently a giant sketchbook lol.

what kind of erasers did you get??
i bought these sakura foam erasers this year and they're AMAZING, would highly recommend - i've used other erasers in the past (the classic pental/staedtler ones - which are also p nice and a good value imo) but these are next tier lol

they are a few dollars more though but not by too much and i think they're totally worth if anyone's lookin for erasers in the future lol

i'm def in the market for sketchbooks though, esp one of the bigger ones, lmk if you like the ones u get :0

@xvz: I just bought tombow's mono small eraser 5 pack.
I don't often have much money and shipping usually
takes it all since no prime life lol.

I just needed erasers better than my pentel ones i've dealt with
as they smudge everything.
so we'll see how it goes.
I'm probably just gonna do anatomy studies tho.

I'm not very good with telling how good of materials are as im not really a traditional artist.
i am basically 99% digital artist.
so this is the first time of buying any kind of materials so im not really sure how helpful my opinion on them will be :vanora_sweat:

@moodybats: ohh i read the tombow ones are really good! i haven't tried them but i went down a weird eraser rabbit hole at one point lol
what do you think you'll be using for your anatomy studies? ^^ i plan on doing some more figure drawings / studies this month :3
i'm thinking of using one of these: line of action , sketch daily - i like that they have "class mode" so you can warm up w shorter poses before doing longer ones :0

@xvz: Just youtube, pinterest, etc.
I have a lot of reference to draw.
i dont really like the poses i get given for most reference sites and don't like having a timer.
i'm an extremely slow artist and have trouble all the time just even sketching freely.

So im just doing my own sort of thing.
figured i'd start with trying out loomis head method.

@moodybats: mm it's good to go w a process that works for you! imo it's better to do it in a way that is more enjoyable / feels good for you, than to force a process that leaves you feeling frustrated or discouraged
while it can help to push yourself outside ur comfort zone, i think you need enough "comfort" to stay motivated and encouraged so you can keep up w it

i'm not sure if i would try inktober this year , but i do think seeing all the art from ppl who are doing it will be good inspo to make art this month ^^

So i buy everything i can online.
only time i go out is doctor's appointments.

tho my eyes need to get checked so i didn't read clearly
the erasers were "small"
but i got like 5 so it should be fine lol.

@MoodyBats: if I didn’t have to work I wouldn’t leave the house at all. I guess it’s good to get out sometimes though. I have depression so it’s probably bad to be home all the time, but I’d still want to do it. XD
I like small erasers because they fit better in small spaces you want to erase. There are erasers that are like pencils but with eraser instead of lead so you can sharpen them to a tiny point! OuO

@Lina: im used to it since ever since my mom had her stroke 10 ish years ago
i rarely left the house. :vanora_sweat:
I do have anxiety and depression.
Bu not much i can do since i cant drive anyways lol
and don't really have friends irl.
and well obviously pandemic so im just staying put.
And the only job i can do is art because other than art i am pretty useless lmao.

I usually prefer larger ones in case i draw a bunch.
