It will be behind a paywall... That makes no sense as to other websites that are widely used are free. Why would they want to profit off of the disabled like that? It's supposed to be a free feature for those who have trouble seeing with white blinding backgrounds. Makes me sad.

Ads don't always work as so many people use adblock.
If it's the site I THINK you're referring to, then most people w ho would use the site would be smart enough to avoid the ads.
At the same time, those that use the site, you'd think are smart enough to just get the browser add on (I think there's one for both FF and Chrome. Not sure about elsewhere) to alter the CSS to make it dark mode.
