"Of course." he responded.

"Understandable." he said.

"And she should." he went on. "No worries about that." he chuckled.

"We just need to wait." he shrugged.

"But anyway, on another note, how have you been?" he asked her.

"Been a while since we've chatted." he said.

"It really has been." Sydney agreed.

"And I'm all right. Overworked, though." She added. "By choice."

Sure enough, about half an hour later, Kalin returned.

"Done and done." She said simply.

"Saturday night there will be a joint show with the pair of them." She added.

"Well, tha tmakes it easier." Stydney commented with a light laugh.

"Sure does." he said.

"You'll need to tell Desiree and Jaden." he told Kalin.

"Or... well, YOU'LL tell Jaden, I'm sure." he then said to Sydney.

"You intend to have them meet before the show, or AT the show?" he then asked the women.

"What's the plan here?"

Kalin paused a moment.

". . . You really think I'm the type to make plans, and not have those it pertains to involved in the making of those plans?" She asked, her voice deadpan.

"... wow." She muttered as Sydney laughed.

"Sounds like both already know." The vampire commented after a few seconds.

Rene just rolled his eyes.

"Excuse my questions." he said.

"Well then!" he suddenly exclaimed, standing up.

"Looks like I'M not needed here anymore." he commented. "Or... wasn't even needed here in the first place, come to think of it." he then vocalised.

"So I'll attempt to make myself useful." he said.

"Anyone want a drink or a bite?" he asked.

"Sydney, would you care to join us for dinner?" Kalin asked. Sydney just laughed.

"if the fish is cooking, definitely." Sydney answered.

She sighed as she stood in her dressing room. It was the day tha tshe'd been set up to do the show with Jaden. She was uneasy about it though, extremely so.

However, she also realised that it could be good, for both of them.

She was suprt underground and unknown, this could be what it takes to get her name out there more than it was. At the same time, she really was uneasy about that, considering her past, her history, her family.

She sighed as she looked to her reflection before taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, shifted her headset, and left hte room. She knew she was due on stage in a matter of minutes, after all.

As she left the room, she saw a door down the room that was slightly open. And she heard a voice inside.

Jaden's.

"All right, buddy you can do this." he said.

"This is new, but you can do this." he went on.

"Get out there and freak their minds!" he said further.

"Yeah!" he finished, psyching himself up.

She paused as she heard him. With a light, barely audible, chuckle she approached the door and knocked.

"Uneasy about this?" She asked as she poked her head in, her voice curious.

"Because... certainly sounds it." She added with a light laugh.

Jaden jolted up for a moment, before sighing and making his way to the door, opening it more fully.

"Oh, hey." he said.

"....and yeah. I am." he told her.

"I always am." he admitted.

"Always have that moment of sheer terror, but I psych myself out of it." he went on with a smile.

"How about you?" he asked.

"How are YOU feeling?"

She paused a moment before hsrugging.

"A bit unsure as to what is to come, but I'm definitely excited. Never... done a joint show before." She admitted after a moment.

"Also... not entirely sure how the crowd will take it." She added, her voice having a chuckle to it... but something more, something that sounded like serious apprehension.

"Anyway, we're due up there in a few minutes. Walk together?" She asked with a smile.

Jaden nodded in response.

"I understand." he said.

"It can sometimes be really hard to gauge an audience." he reasoned.

"But I'm sure we'll do fine." he told her.

"We just gotta do what comes naturally when we get on stage." he went on with a smile.

"And yes, let us walk together." he finished, stepping out of the room and closing the door.

"Can't blemish Kalin's name." he chuckled.

"I really would much rather not." She agreed with a nod.

They worked together beautifully, mixing their show styles together suprisingly well. It, in the end, was a treat for everyone.

And it was horrible when it was ended before the expected ending time as the lights above the pair of them suddenly collapsed.

There were cries all throughout the crowd as security started to usher everyone out. Kalin, meanwhile, was on her phone as she made her way down to the stag quickly.

"Rene, possible medic required at my club, get here quick, will you?" Was all she said. After he'd agreed, she hung up the phone, shoved it in her pocket, and picked up the pace.

Jaden, she was sure would be fine... but Desiree, on the other hand, she wasn't so sure.

While security and others were trying to contain the crowd, things were silent on stage. Eerily quiet and still.

Until some of the heap of lighting moved a bit, and Jaden growled as he lifted what was on him up... along with himself.

"Damn it." he cursed.

'How did I not see that coming...' he thought, before his eyes widened.

"Ah!" he exclaimed.

"Desiree!" he yelled.

"Desiree, are you okay!?" he asked, looking towards where she had been standing.

When Jaden looked over, he saw Kalin trying to get the lights that fell on Desiree off her.

"You all right, Jaden?' She asked as she looked over to him, some concern in her feature and voice. She was most definitely alarmed this had happened, and that wasn't something that could be denied, either.

"I'm so sorry. I Don't know what happened, or why the lights collapsed liek that." She commented.

". . . can you hear her heartbeat?" She asked quietly, wanting to know if Desiree was even alive still.

"I can." he replied.

"It's faint, but it's there." he told her.

He then shoved the debris off of himself, and effortlessly lifted the debris that was atop Desiree.

"Get her." he said.

"She needs medical attention, I'm sure of it." he went on.

"Kalin!?" they both then heard Rene call out in the distance, over the noise of the crowd.

As Jaden lifted the debris, Kalin just laughed.

I keep forgetting just how strong you are because of your Mom's genetics." She commented before getting in to lift Desiree out, which was easy enough.

"Hey Rene." She said after getting Desiree out and crouching nex tot her as she coughed, a lot.

"You ok?" She asked the pink haired lady. Desiree nodded, before pausing.

"I... Maybe?" Was Desirees response before coughing, again.

"... Chest hurts though." She added

Thankfully, Rene had gotten close enough to hear Kalin when she greeted him, and sighed when he heard everything else.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"Might be some broken or bruised ribs." he said.

"Desiree, I need to take you somewhere private to look at you." he then told Desiree.

"I'll use my water to do it, unless you'd prefer Kalin help." he went on.

"Or can you manipulate your own mana?" he asked.

"Just tell me where." Desiree said after a moment or two.

"I can get wherever. I don't think I can get to my feet for the moment, though." She then added a few seconds later, which wasx quickly followed by a wince as she took a deeper breath than she should have.

"How about my office." Kalin suggested. Desiree just nodded before looking around, making sure no one was around anymore, before she vanished in a small swirl of wind.

"She'll be waiting for you." She told Rene with a light sigh.

"Not at first." he said.

"If she wants you there, I'll let you know." he finished.

With that, he was gone.

Jaden was silent, and just sighed.

"Damn it!" he cursed.

"I should have been more vigilant!"

"It's not your fault." She assured him.

"For all we know, it was a loose screw or something." She added with a light sigh.

"She's alive, and will survive. So that's ok." She continued with a sigh.

"You should let your mom know about this though."
