"Off the record, very little." he went on.

"You were just as qualified as the other applicants, but we here at the Unit believe in helping those that need it." he continued.

"So while the other applicants are sure to find jobs elsewhere, we feel that allowing you to have the position is the right choice." he said further.

"Also, your overall personality tells me you'll gel with the other employees far more naturally than the others." he added.

"Now... it's time we go through the employment agreements."

"That's completely fair." She said.

"I've always been one to blend into a crowd quite nicely." She added with a soft smile.

"and yes, let's get on that. BNetter to not leave something like that hanging, after all."

"Right." Hal replied.

About 25 minutes later, they had finished everything up, and the last paper had been signed.

"And that is that." he said.

"You report for your first day this coming Monday." he told her.

"Remember to dress appropriately, even though we ARE a bit more lax with that sort of thing." he went on.

"Oh! And here." he finished, taking a larger coin from a desk drawer, and handing it to her.

"Use that to avoid the commute. It'll teleport you to a safe and secure location near the building, so you can walk here."

"Now that is definitely handy." Brie commented with a laugh as she accepted the coin.

"Thank you much." She added with a smile.

"And of course. I will make sure I'm dressed appropriately." She confirmed with a nod as she got to her feet.

"Now, is there anything else?" She asked, wanting to make sure before she left.

"If not, then I would like to walk around the building and learn the path to where I will be situated."

"Get to know your new place of work." he told her.

"I'd suggest familiarizing yourself with R&D, specifically." he went on. "After all, you'll be working there." he reasoned.

"For now, go on ahead." he went on.

"And feel free to stop by the cafeteria for something to eat, if you wish." he added.

"I'm sure you've been told what to do if you find yourself confused as to where you are."

"Well, as I said, learn the path to where I will be situated." Brie commented with a light shrug.

"But I should probably learn some of the more immediate layout locations as well." She said.

"At any rate. Thank you, so much." She said before smiling, waving, and heading off. As she left his office, there was a subtle smirk on her face.

The door was shut as she left, and she then proceeded to explore the building.

On her way, she ran into Azazel.

"Oh, hey." he greeted her.

"How's it going?" he asked.

"...judging from the fact that you seem to be familiarizing yourself with the place, can I assume things have gone well in the interviewing process?" he then asked her further.

"Beyond that, I'm just looking around, getting a feel for the place.... and learning where the hell everything is." She added with a laugh.

"I'm not navigationally challenged, but I still can't get anywhere without a general idea."

"But you'll get used to it." he told her.

He then suddenly laughed a little, and shook his head.

"Man." he said.

"Never thought someone I met over message boards and IM would end up being a coworker." he admitted.

"No way to know for certain though." She added. "Entirely depends on if you believe in fate or not."

"anyway! Don't mind me. I want to give my Uncle a call, let him know what happened." She then said after a few seconds with a smile. "He was rooting for me, and didn't wnat to see me on the sreets or anything." She added before looking around.

"Where's a good place for a private ish phone call in here?" She asked, her voice curious.

"Eh, just find a random empty room and go inside." he told her.

"Just make sure the door is closed." he went on.

"If it's closed, people will know someone's inside, but the window in the door will allow them to check and make sure nothing illegal or whatever is happening." he explained.

"That work for you?" he asked.

"Or do you need something more private?"

"I'm sure I'll see you around. For now, I feel like I should make that call." She told him. "Granted, hang around out here if you want, and we can go grab lunch or something afterward?"

"See you soon." Brie said as he walked off before making her way into one of the empty rooms. Once she was sure she was alone for the moment, she made the call that she knew she had to make.

"I'm in." She said as they answered.

"No. I don't think they suspect anything." She continued after a few seconds.

"Administrative work in research. I shoudl have access to most, if not all, files and records."

"I'll send text updates weekly if I cannot call." She assured him before they ended the call. Once that was done, she sighed lightly before making her way out of the room.
