I tend to use a lot of garlic, basil, and dried minced onion (cause I don't like how pungent fresh ones are) in my stuff.

Pasta was my comfort food as a kid

When we have it, I like to dice up my own garlic, but that's rarely on the official shopping trip. Never used basil though, however I've been pretty fond of rosemary. Especially when I made roast. I liked to cut holes into the roast and stuff them with garlic and rosemary. Don't have my access to rosemary anymore.

We had a lot of pasta when we were little too, but it's not my most favorite. I do like homemade and cream sauces though.

Basil is so good. :D I love rosemary too, my sister makes a great rosemary chicken! If you can't find fresh, maybe you could find it dried? We use a lot of dried herbs, just because of the shelf life and cost.

Basil and rosemary are pretty expensive dried, and hard to find in our Wal-Mart. Lol I used to get my rosemary from a local college's garden. They had a botany class who planted a lot of herds and edible greens.

They are, but they last way longer then fresh. So it helps offset the cost for us. They tend to be really versatile too.

My uncle has started putting the more expensive herbs and spices on our shopping list. Pointing out that it was a sound investment for yummier food. Which is true. Pisses my mom off though, since she doesn't like most of those herbs and spices. Him and I have been banned from using sage in anything.

I'm not a big fan of sage ether. x.x But others like it, so I'll use a small amount in stuff at the holidays.

I like to mix it in with some other things, like chamomile tea with some clover, to use in the bath.

I should suggest that to my sister, she has that problem a lot from work.

Oh yeah it's a great stress reliever, and supposedly clover can give you relaxing dreams.

Oh nice, I don't think I've ever seen clover anywhere around here though.

Lol always a fun thing to do. >w< there have been a lot of recipes I wanted to try because of looking up foods online.
Just a few days ago I saw a recipe for a cake made with Maker's Mark whiskey. If that kind of whiskey wasn't CRAZY expensive, and if I didn't totally suck at baking. I'd have made that for a friend's birthday.

There's so many recipes on my list of want to try making. Some I've found, some I make up myself too.
