Now tumblr has failed to do something about porn bots and child porn they have decided to ban all adult content. I guess they will lose atleast 50% of their fanbase. Maybe they should try harder getting rid of the actual bad stuff. Instead of for example female nipples.

The mess already started. People had posts flagged that was far from adult content. I mean a post about a nightmare? A picture of a dog from the sims?

@SirLionelNigelConrad: I am sure tumblr will go down in flames soon if they don't change anything. They have an auto bot that flags adult content. But so far so much non adult content is flagged, They will literaly get 1000000000 post they need to review. Here is a preview of flagged content:

@sunny: It is. There is already a petition to keep tumblr 18 up. Over 7000 people have already signed.

@MoodyBats: But wordpress is nothing more then a blog. Unless you host wordpress on your own server (like I do). It's like blogger.

@kiwi: Wordpress does use tags. Using tags. I don't know if the have a feature where you can browse tags like tumblr does. I only use WP on my own server to host my portfolio.

I feel bad for all the artists who used it for SFW art and still got flagged.
I use Twitter now a days mostly but I still would have liked the option to utilize my Tumblr for art.
Ah well. RIP, they will have a hard time recovering from this if they ever do.
Porn Bots are a problem but why alienate all your actual users?

@vengeance: Honestly, this decision makes me laugh.
Like... as you said, they'll lose somewhere around half their userbase, at least. I don't doubt that
Plus, I'm pretty sure it's the minority for people who have decided that they like the choice.

I just laugh at it, because Tumblr's digging their own grave.

It's not just Tumblr. They were just getting an early start on anticipated law changes. It's only going to branch out from there and hit Twitter, which I think is the only major social media site that currently allows NSFW. Or does not actively pursue it... I dunno, I see a lot of porn there! lol

I'm bummed but I've noticed that for as often as they've banned or blocked SFW posts mistakenly, they've missed NSFW content. XD So some of my favorite artists are still doing what they do.
