I heard that for a supermarket Aldi treats you pretty good. (At least it was like that in the UK, but I'm pretty sure it's the same here)
Prior to aldi coming to Australia, when I visited the UK it blew my mind service cashiers got to sit down AND they didn't bag your groceries.
I think Tesco's was like that too. I miss chocolate chip pancakes.

The is US they don't let you sit and normally a worker bags your groceries.
The first time I went to Aldi I didn't understand and then I tried to bag it as fast as I could and I didn't know they had a section to do it either.
I still to this day don't know why someone didn't just be like oh you can bag them over there. People just gave me the evils. I didn't know any better. I was American.

also all the supermarkets here make you bag everything yourself
except some of the asian ones but thats bc the bags are right there and they just scan and bag

I like it when people bag them, because I'm horrible at it. However I can do it myself if I need to, no problem.
But don't freaking give me the stare down because I'm not bagging fast enough.
It's so odd to me. Like what if it's really busy and you have a lot of groceries and there's no room on the extra area to pack your stuff? Seems more stressful and time consuming to me but I guess the upside is that you get to pack your things they way you want?

usually theres enough room on the conveyer and there are 2 lanes so there's enough time to bag things haha

This is what our major supermarket checkouts used to look like when I worked there. The only difference now is there's a carousel at the end where you put the users bags instead of Infront of you.

I'm pretty good at bagging from when I was a cashier. But at aldi's, as long as weather permits, I'll bag them at my car
The folks here would hate that lol. So many of them get pissy when they're forced to put the bags in their cart let alone bag it themselves
Ahh I see. Thats so odd! Would take up a lot of space but I can see how you can get everything packed.

I'm glad we were never expected to take things out to peoples cars (except for the very elderly or people who had heavy things)
