@Totalanimefan: It’s hard to imagine retirement because ooooof, idk how the world will be like decades from now.
I personally wouldn’t mind if the fruit company built an office here. I don’t see them as evil like Amazon. xD Do they have an office on the east coast?
My heart really goes out to the people who are suffering there. ): I feel like we all reacted late, except for your state. NYC should’ve gotten on it in Feb in my opinion. I’m really worried about my friend who lives there. I messaged her but haven’t heard back anything yet. x__x

@Totalanimefan: Oh wow, I’m really surprised the fruit company hasn’t spread out like all the other big name companies. It’s not like they don’t have the money or the interest. There would be A LOT of people who would love to work for them in the DMV area (and they’d be super qualified because we have a lot of talented peeps here). I wonder if they’ll think about at least having another east coast branch after NYC got shut down during the pandemic. It would be cool to have it close and you move here. :)

When I was helping out at my cousin’s store, a lot of medical people were telling me they were being contacted and offered ridiculously high amounts of money if they came to help out in NYC. All of them were like NOPE because of the lack of protective wear and all the horror stories they’ve been hearing... plus our area might be in a similar situation soon and they can’t risk leaving.

Honestly, DC isn’t a bad place for women to work. I feel like we have a lot of businesses owned/run by mostly women. I have been sexually harassed at my previous jobs before, but I feel like there will always be that until something changes with the people who behave like that.

@Totalanimefan: Omg, I didn’t even know they considered coming here. They def should once the Amazon HQ2 hype goes away. I think the price of land and buildings has gone up a lot, but it’s nothing that the fruit company couldn’t afford. Plus it’s like you said, it’s essential to have an office in/near DC if you want to join the lobbying game. Side note on that, I really wish they would make lobbying illegal...

I wish the new Amtrak was enough to lure more companies here. You know most of those CEOs and overpaid execs are going to take private jets because comfort & privacy > cleaner energy & faster. But I could be wrong, and I hope I am.

I knoooooow, I’m sure you’ve prolly gone through similar stuff. Most of the sexual harassment I’ve experienced were corny/annoying pick up lines, but I did experience a few interactions that crossed the line. One time at Sephora, a guy was calling to ask about a cologne set we had, and at the end he made a comment about how I have a nice voice and I should consider doing phone sex.

Just disgusting. The good news is that I think behavior like this is slowly changing and isn’t as prevalent as it used to be. Also, eff guys who treat us like we’re dumb because of our gender. The cousin I’ve been helping out mansplained so much to me, I temporarily quit for a week because I was so pissed.

Ditto about chatting with you being awesome! <3 It’s always a good time talking with you, and it really has been too long. ^^

@Tsundererra: mint tea, is one of my favorite teas peach tea is yummy. Last year for the fall craft fair I asked if she would do like a custom pumpkin scent of stuf or gingerbread stuff and she said oh yeah sure I would just ask when you want to order and it slipped my mind when I ordered the gingerbread soap from her.

@Unicorn: I really love mint teas too. I love peppermint, mint with eucalyptus + lemon, green tea + mint, and chocolate mint. I like fruity teas as well, but it depends on the fruit. Some fruit teas, like lychee, have this weird “meaty” taste. x__x

@Kairu: I totally forgot it was the weekend. What art stuff are you going to buy? And are all the stores still open in your country? They shut down our arts and crafts stores because of the pandemic.

@Totalanimefan: Just all special interest, shady money bribes should be illegal and out of our politics. But this is something people have been saying for years and no change yet.
I def think Amazon is delaying the fruit company’s plans for coming to the DC area. This pandemic has prolly delayed their plans further since people will be salty to see that a big company is throwing down big money to expand while the economy and everyone is suffering.

Saaaaaaaame. I think most women shrug and move on unless it crosses a line. Progress is so slow... ^^;
