@djinn: true facts. But this one is from the 80’s and it was never brought up to code. Even my electric panel is faulty
@djinn: yeah big yikes. My friends say that this place is cursed and they might be right but I don’t want to say it in my house and piss off the spirit haha

I hope there's not much more work that needs to be done. My last house was just a mess of projects until we sold it. It was built in the 70's and idk if it was the builders or the owners over the years but they took a LOT of shortcuts. Like just .... really baffling things. Instead of washers they used pennies??? And they converted the back porch to a sunroom, but never bothered to get a permit so of course it wasn't up to code. They had all kinds of wacky wiring in the garage and don't even get me started on the rest of the electrical. None of the breaker switches made any sense at all.
But it was a learning experience at least. I know what kinds of things to look for next time.
