As the creature approached the group and the men readied themselves for a fight, something unexpected happened as Leo wriggled free from Virgil's arms. Before he could scramble to catch him again, Leo was already trotting ahead, not seeming to mind the heavy snow around him.
"Ah, wait-" Virgil winced, looking over to Vontell, expecting to see his concern. To his surprise, he instead seemed calm, more inquisitive than anything as he watched his capybara companion approach the monster.
Once he stood before the great, roaring beast, Leo merely sat, starring at her intently. Slowly, the roaring ceased, and the creature stared back at him, the two exchanging a prolonged silence. To the men's surprise, the creature plopped down onto the ground, sitting with Leo as she reached out to pat the top of his head, seemingly calmed.
"... What the hell just happened?" Virgil muttered under his breath, earning a chuckle from Vontell.
"That's the power of a capybara, my dear friend... No creature, no matter how fierce, can resist their calming energy..." No longer sensing danger, he approached as well, the creature seeming to pay him no mind as he pats her on the shoulder, "It appears we've made another friend today. What do you think of that, Virgil?"
"... I think this was a waste of time."

A loud roar thundered from behind the investigating pair, prompting them to waste no more time chatting. They hurriedly trudged through the heavy snow, trying to make their way back to the cabin they now regretted leaving.
"Why... Did I... Ever... Agree... To help..." Virgil panted under his breath, clutching tightly onto the sleeping capybara in his arms. At least one of them could take it easy, he thought joylessly to himself.
"Just... Get to the cabin..." Vontell huffed softly from exertion, a worried expression on his face as he tried to formulate a plan of action. He didn't have long to think as they approached the building, and to their absolute dismay, it seemed the storm completely snowed in the doorway.
"Great... Glad this is how I die..." Virgil sighed, looking over to Vontell, "Any plans?"
Vontell's eyebrows furrowed, shaking his head, "I'm going to do the best I can to hold it off... Get to safety if you can..." He got into a stance, ready to take on the beast should he have to, using magic or well... otherwise. This caused Virgil to snort slightly.
"Yeah okay hero... I'm not abandoning you here..." He sighed, grimacing and immediately regretting his words as a large figure emerged from the white flurry of snow. In no time, a massive furry beast was towering over them, letting out a loud roar as they gulped silently.
What have they gotten themselves into...?
[Next stage unlocked, new poses added.]

Approaching the small snowy mound cautiously, the inquisitive pair (and their trusty companion Leo) were surprised as they heard strange noises, "Now what could this be...?" Pondered Vontell, "We should exercise great cau- Virgil!"
Before Vontell had even finished his thought, Virgil was already poking at the snow with his boot, prompting it to explode in a sudden puff of snow. A small, furry creature stood in it's place, shaking the excess snow from its fur as Virgil narrowed his eyes suspiciously at it. Vontell, in contrast, began to laugh.
"Oh! It's just a harmless little creature... It's rather cute, don't you think?"
"No..." Virgil muttered, taking a step back, "We had these back in Ice Realm... It's probably the cause of the storm, they can generate snow. We should probably get out of here if we want to keep living."
"What? This little creature is meant to do us any harm?" Vontell laughed softly, shaking his head as he reached down to gently pet the top of it's head. The creature purred softly in response, clearly no threat, "See? I do believe we've made a new friend..."
Virgil stepped away, grimacing deeper as he muttered, "Yeah that's great but... That's just the baby, and I think I hear mom coming..."

Vontell spies a set of fresh footprints in the snow, his eyes lighting up, "Aha! How peculiar... My friend, can you identify what sort of creature made these footprints? They seem almost human, and yet..."
"Man I don't know..." Virgil sighs with a shrug, scanning the horizon. However, to his surprise, something does catch his attention, "Hey, you see that pile of snow over there?"
"Hm?" Vontell follows his gaze, before nodding, "Why, yes I do!"
"Yeah, it's moving. Probably should check it out..." Virgil mumbles, leading the way towards it...

Virgil glares harshly at the pile of snow blocking the cabin door. “This isn’t exactly how I expected to be spending today…” he groans, his frustration growing stronger by the second. As he resists the urge to kick at the snow, Vontell inspects the surrounding area. He fails to register Virgil’s deadpan stare as he ponders their current predicament, before finally breaking free of his concentration to turn and address his companion.
“Ah, apologies…I was so focused, I had almost forgotten you were there. Perhaps you could help me find the cause of this conundrum?” he asks with a warm smile.
Weighing his options and deciding he has nothing better to do, Virgil sighs and nods reluctantly, mumbling, “Maybe some extra sets of eyes could help get this over with quicker, too…”

Vontell’s standing in a corner of the room, rummaging through papers alongside his companion Leo.
You approach curiously, wondering why the man is working during a party.
“Oh, it’s great to see you here friend!”
He smiles and notices your interest in the papers.
“No need to worry, I am enjoying the festivities too! My good pal Leo has prepared some games for the party.
He always knows when it’s time for a break...” Vontell chuckles.
“Here.” He extends a hand to show you the contents of the papers, they contain a selection of simple games.
“We’re sharing these with everyone. Hopefully it’ll bring you some fun despite the challenge they may bring!”
