"Prompt updated... Violet... Why do you want to see this?"

Virgil rolls his eyes before noticing the pile of art ready to be displayed. Carefully, he inspects each and every one of them, nodding in approval to each.

@alexis: "Pretty trendy looking, good aesthetic. Does look like it'd be comfortable, you're right. I could see him wearing it. Good work, nice use of shading and colours. I'll hang this up."

@shadami: "Huh, this is a very interesting look, can't say I've seen anything like it. That's a good thing, I like it. It's a statement piece. Good detailing on the pattern too. I'll get this up there."

@kiwi: Virgil almost seems amused as he shrugs, "It's not wrong. Good job, I'll display it."

@goblin: Rubbing his chin, Virgil squints as he inspects your art. After a long pause of silence, he hums thoughtfully, nodding, "I see what you were going for here. Tch, knowing her, Velvet probably did make him try on something out of his comfort zone. Good work, I'll hang it up in the gallery."

As he's putting up your art he catches your threat. Pausing, he glances back at you with a grimace, "Just my luck..."

@tsundererra: "Why am I suddenly worried..."

"Alright... Another prompt added..." Virgil grimaces for a moment, "Don't draw anything too weird with it....."

@tsundererra: "Sorry, yeah, you can ping either of us. We'll see it no matter what."

Day 3 Lore

To Virgil, expertly avoiding the need to mingle in merriments came as naturally to him as breathing to those around him. With the festival going on, he’d have preferred to stay indoors where he could save his energy for more crucial activities. Unfortunately, his hunger coupled with Violet’s pestering proved detrimental to whatever objection he could have presented.

With less reluctance than he’d initially put up, Virgil made his way out, making sure to take his camera with him. “What a drag…” he muttered, scratching his messy mop of hair before pulling his beanie back on. The walk to the main event area took much less time than expected, even when Virgil took the scenic route for some practice camera shots. After arriving at his destination, he made his way to the nearest food stall for his first purchase: a grilled buttered potato. After paying, Virgil walked off while nibbling on the steaming hot potato. Every bite he took was flavorful, the somewhat sweet taste of butter mingling with the soft, fluffy texture. Resisting the urge to lose himself in the delicacy, he settled with a whispered “…Hm…not bad.” before the delicious aroma of grilling meat beckoned him to the next stall.

“Chicken skewers? They look pretty singed, but they smell nice…” He bought one and cooled it with a few breaths before quickly digging in. The taste was something else, he surmised, and he was still chewing when he bought another two skewers. It was while paying that he noticed Vregory in the distance, his rat compatriot Eugene sniffing at the air. The pair hadn’t noticed Virgil yet, something that elicited a sigh of relief from him, their focus on finding edible leftovers being paramount as Vreg’s eyes roamed. They stopped at a trash can every now and again, fraying Virgil’s nerves whenever Vreg came close to spotting him. He quickly hid behind a rather large rock, nervously peering out every now and then, making a break for it once the coast was clear. As much as he disliked the outdoors, the myriad of flavors almost made up for it. He felt a sense of elation within him rise up with the thought of getting to taste even more good food, and he idly patted himself on the back for bringing a good bit of money with him.

Shortly thereafter, Virgil found himself paying for a small carton of fried noodles, only to see yet another familiar face walking towards his general direction: Vyctor, who by the looks of it was walking slowly while carrying a plastic bag in each hand.. Virgil couldn’t care less to socialize, wanting to enjoy his meal in peace more than anything else. His eyes paced back and forth, scanning for a convenient escape- with time running out he had no choice but to lunge for a cardboard box and tuck under into. He peered out from the handle hole until Vyc was no longer in sight, after which he slurped up the noodles and wiped what remained of the oyster sauce from his lips before disposing of the carton.

Virgil was in the process of removing himself from under the confines of the box when it was lifted off of him by someone else entirely. Reflexively covering his eyes from his sudden return to brightness, Virgil looked up to see a girl staring down at him while holding the box. Her face was covered by a partly-broken porcelain mask, framed by long, silky purple hair. The black coat she wore contrasted with the slightly stained white apron tied around her waist.

The two stared at each other for a few seconds, with neither saying anything to break the silence. Virgil stood, patting himself off. The girl simply shrugged at him, after which she flung the box at a rather sizable garbage bag she had behind her. “...Huh.” For his part, Virgil watched in muted bewilderment as she walked off, dragging the garbage bag behind her. He wondered for a moment who she was, but shook his head and thanked his luck that he managed to avoid any unnecessary interactions during the festival.

This activity is lame. Give me all your lavender so I can go home early.
...
I guess that's my cue to open up the shop, huh?

@priestess of pie: What is your favorite band that I've never heard of?

Answer: Hm. Hard to answer when I don't know what music you listen to. Guess I'll start with the ones you probably know. I listen to a lot of post-punk mostly, stuff like Joy Division, The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen. Outside of that, you'd probably know Neutral Milk Hotel and Modest Mouse, I mostly like their older stuff.

Hm. He rubs his chin in thought. I also like Olivia Tremor Control, Wilco, Mount Eerie... That kind of sound.

@guttedbunny: Yeah, sure. He squints at the word "fanbase". What are you planning to do with that information...?

Virgil grimaces slightly, looking around and mutters under his breath, "You sure I can't leave this?"

He sighs.

@guttedbunny: "Fine."

Day 9:Virgil's face is not one of amusement. His clear disdain and intolerance
for the entire occasion leaves his voice sounding rushed and careless but at the very least on beat.
On the ninth night of solstice, Panthalassa gave to thee:
Candies glazing.

Immediately after, he returns to scowling and hiding his face into the collar of his coat
"Can I go now...." Violet smiles warmly and thanks him, and he leaves brooding about
holidays being unnecessarily commercialized.

[A wrinkled up page, found next to a mossy well which decorated a forest iin the sound realm. Stained and bug bites all around it, where there was once dried up candy stuck to it.]

October 20
There's word that war's broken out, I'm worried for my daughter. I'll do what I can to prevent her involvement.

December 02
It's hard to see ahead of the hardships of times like these. Stuck at home while my child is out there, facing possible horrors. I'm deemed too old to offer my hands and my skills for the realm.
I should have pushed more, it should be me out there.

December 14
The guilt of staying home had been consuming me, but my daughter knows me well. She wrote to me, and reminded me that not all battles are fought with strength on a battlefield. The most important thing is that everyone can stick together in times like this, help each other and find the happiness others are fighting to protect. I've been a fool. Although I wish I had been able to be in her place, simple moping won't help. I should play the part I was given.

December 29
I haven't had much time to write lately. I’ve began to use my time to make all sorts of flavorful candies. Fudge, cakes, sweet little hearts made of chocolate, round delicious mints and gummies amongst other things! A simple joy like mere candy can brighten up a child whose parent is out at war, and that joy gives me hope that my own children are doing the right thing in protecting this happiness. As long as the children remain happy, then we will never truly lose. We'll wait for our loved ones and offer them a sweet welcome home someday.

Ugh, social networking takes too much effort. Update this, post this, filter this.
Rather use my time doing better things tbh. No need to tell the world what
I'm eating or whatever. How boring.

@Spark: Virgil leaps up a bit reluctantly to block a shot from Vreg. In that split moment, they are but inches apart and separated only by the net.

Seeing how much fun is expressed on Vreg's face, Virgil gazes deep into his sparkling green eyes, whispering:

"Vreg... please win so I can go home."
