In case you didn't guess already... this is where you can find a toe or two!! (I'm physically incapable of not making corny jokes)
Been on Voltra (somewhat passively) for a few months now and am starting to feel a bit cozier, especially having a better start with collecting cosmetics. Makes me feeel cozier, yanno.
I remember spending time on some avatar sites when I was younger, but being born in '97, I feel I kinda missed the boat generationally speaking. I only ever dabbled in forum engagement and mostly stuck to avatar customization, but have always loved the dynamic of such sites.
SO here I am, and it's been super cool to be a part of an avatar site as an adult! In the spirit of improving my forum engagement, figured I'd create my own hangout thread. Please feel free and welcome to leave any stray sentiments here, they shall be received warmly (it is a sock, after all).
I like the idea of a "rule" for my hangout, but I also don't like strict rules, so it'll just be if you feel like it.
Folks who comment in this thread, I'd love for you to share a song you really like or that you've been listening to lately!!

Happy Halloween y'all!
I'm hoping to watch a movie or two, if I've got the energy after my night class. But I'm dressed as Donnie Darko all day (as in the outfit he wears for his Halloween party in the movie) so I basically get to wear pajamas/sweats all day, big win. Lucky to have a job I can dress up for, even if I'm one of maybe four people who actually did so...

I'm extremely lucky to have the job I do. It aligns with things I feel are important, and I get to help people which feels nice. Sometimes I do wish my job could be a bit more "fun" because I do just sit around at a desk a lot, plus I'm in grad school because apparently I'm supposed to want an even better job than the job I enjoy (to get more money of course, because that's life), so I've been feeling kinda like I'm working my life away. But it won't be forever. Plus I can look to my partner's job as a life lesson: they do more of a "fun" thing on paper but it leaves them too burned out for it to be much fun anymore outside of work. So I count my blessings - one of which being a regular and predictable income, something I know to be a privilege.
@Stupid: Do you enjoy your job enough to at least enjoy each day? It really sucks to have more responsibilities than money, lol.

Thrift/consignment store is the direction my mind went too for sure! I'm a small and quirky fella so in that sense definitely understand struggling to find clothes that Work in all the ways. Thrifting stuff tends to yield more fun/unpredictable stuff, plus the lower budget also inspires/enables me to experiment with modifying clothes to my liking. For example I could never find jean shorts the fit and length I liked, so I recently thrifted some regular jeans and cropped 'em. Whablam!
I wish there were more online clothing sites that offered free and easy returns so folks could try things on. Maybe they do exist and I just don't shop online enough!!? I do know of Depop for the thrift store type deal without having to go in person, might be a good start?
Also I daresay? toads > humans anyway

I'm not by my sketchbook or anything like that so I just did a little doodle in MS Paint lol. I'll have to come back later with some official sketchbook doodles! Abstract scribbly faces like this are my niche, I've found. Thinking too hard about my art can be overwhelming and discouraging, so I love doodles :)
Also I love y'all's work sketchbook stuff, and am impressed and envious of your abilities to draw hair and create cool texture/depth in sketches!

@Alexia: Yoooo, that sounds quite awesome indeed!! I admittedly tend to hang out on Voltra whilst I'm at work, and Webkinz is blocked by the pesky Work Firewall so I'll have to look into it when I'm at home. But look I shall, because that would be a neat nostalgia trip! Really cool to know it's still regularly updated and that they continue to prioritize safety for their audience and all that jazz. Thanks for sharin' about it and all, I'll look for ya when I check it out!
