Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash looked over towards her, paused a moment, and sighed.

"I have my reservations." he admitted.

"But... I... I don't... NOT want to live with her." he then said.

"I admit, for most of my life... which is to say... up until NOW... I've been of the mindset that she's a devil-woman." he told her. "But... well... maybe that was wrong of me." he continued.

"I'm starting to think that... well... maybe I should give her a chance." he went on.

"People I trust... trust her. And that's more than enough."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

Ash paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"Hmmmm..." he mumbled. "Softer... non-abrasive..." he went on.

"Oh!" he exclaimed, snapping his fingers.

"I know where I can get some satin." he told her. "Or we have a Somnum-Sheep at the guild. I can get some wool from it and have it turned into a blindfold for you." he went on.

"The material made from their wool is used to make superior sleep masks, after all."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash's mouth almost dropped agape from hearing that.

"H... Hazel, why didn't you say anything about it?" he asked her, before pausing. "No, let me guess. Vanessa." he said.

Hazel merely nodded in response.

"Of course." Ash snarled.

"Well, then we'll get you a blindfold." he told her. "Simple as that." he said.

"Does it have to be any specific kind?" he asked. "You said a good scarf or something, or anything, but is there anything that's better than any others?" he asked her further.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash looked at her confusedly for a moment... before MORE things started to click, and the gears went on full rotate.

"...your blindfold!" he exclaimed.

"THAT'S what it was for!" he realised, quickly sitting up.

"...wait..." he mumbled. "Does... does this have to do with how your eyes look stormy sometimes?" he asked her.

"And the pained expressions you've been having?"

@totalanimefan: Yep, we be lucky friends now. I'd love to be able to take advantage of that, too. Get a lucky Trevenant or Gourgeist.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash was still laying on the couch, staring at the ceiling, and it took a couple of seconds before Hazel's greeting and statement hit his mind. He then shook his head lightly, and looked at her.

"It's fine." he said.

"Pretty sure it means that living with my mother is out of the question, though." he then said.

"Can't live in a place that actually pains you, after all." he reasoned.

great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Meanwhile, Ash had returned home, and put Hazel out on the balcony. He laid her down on the cot he'd gotten her, and made sure the tent was covering her as well. She hated sleeping inside, where it reminded her of the lab, and while this set-up wasn't much better, she was at least outside. And safe on the balcony. He made sure she was comfortable, before heading inside and sitting down on the couch.

And he then let out a loud sigh.

"Okaaaaay, NOW I can freak out." he said to himself.

"Just have a nice, quiet mental breakdown, and try and piece together what just happened." he said further, flopping into a laying position.

'And wait for Hazel to wake up...' he then thought.

my little jokes on thee...

"...oh. Huh." Ash responded.

"Well... fair enough then." he said.

"You said we could teleport out of here directly?" he then asked.

Rowena nodded in response.

"I'll... I'll be in touch, then." Ash replied, picking Hazel up, and the two of them vanishing in a burst of familiar and... rather strong... black fire.

Ash paused as he heard that.

"Really?" he asked.

"Really." she responded, as Ash accepted the brownies.

"...never would have guessed." he admitted.

"They're amazing." he complimented her.

"Seriously, I never would have guessed that they're diabetic-friendly."

my little jokes on thee...

Ash paused and thought about it.

"Y... yeah." he said.

"If that's all right. I could smell them when we came in, and they smelled delicious." he told her.

"...and I know that if I were to go back without at least trying one, I would have REALLY regretted it later." he then admitted to her with a small chuckle, before looking at Hazel again.

"So... yeah. I'll take some back. Discuss things with her, and then get back to you." he summarised.

"Not sure WHEN, admittedly... depends on when she wakes up."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"...yeah, that's fair." Ash admitted.

"She's a master of manipulation. Odds are she told JUST enough truth." he muttered. "Because of course she did." he growled.

He then just sighed, and shook his head.

"Look, I... Aunt Rocky has vouched for you countless times in the past... and you got my number from Vincent." he told her. "So... asking me to trust you implicitly so soon is not possible." he said bluntly.

"But, if nothing else, I trust THEM." he went on.

"And... and... I admit... there's part of me that wants to trust you, like I trust them." he continued. "So doing this... moving in here... would be a big step towards that." he admitted further.

"Right now... this arrangement rests on Hazel."

my little jokes on thee...

"Ah... y-yeah..." Ash responded.

"Um... yeah." he said again.

"Sorry, I'm... I'm at a loss for words right now." he admitted. "What I've believed my entire life is coming crashing down around me, and my brain is saying this should have happened a long time ago." he told her.

"Nevermind the fact that Aunt Rocky kept telling me what you're telling me... I should have REALLY started to doubt that info, as Vanessa told me it." he continued.

"And I'm pretty sure everything she told me was a lie." he went on.

"So... one would think I would have started to question the 'information' about you a lot sooner..."

my little jokes on thee...

Ash looked at Hazel again, and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Hmmm." he mumbled.

"That... might be the best idea?" he admitted.

"I want to talk with her and see if I can't find out if we can find a way for her to live here. This is a really nice place in a beautiful area, in a nice country." he reasoned, looking around.

"Overall, it's really prime real estate for mine and Hazel's situation."

"...there's a bigger deciding factor here." Ash responded.

"Hazel." he said.

"If she can't live here... than neither can I." he told her.

"If we can find a way for her to live here and coexist with you... then... then..." he stammered, Rowena easily being able to tell that he was struggling with saying what he wanted to.

"Then... sure." he managed to get out.

"I'll... I'll give this a shot."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.
