Desiree shook her head.
"It wasn't Deryck!" She exclaimed.
"It... it was my landlord..." She added quietly, not sure how he would take that. She knew that it was horrible, at the very least.

Desiree was silent, but followed Jaden inside after a few seconds. It wasn't until they were up and in his suite. She was silent for a moment after that before sighing.
"I... we checked everything about that apartment... but..." She trailed off a bit.
"He... he treid ..." She started before shaking her head, barely able to finish it.

How was she supposed to say that her landlord, someone she was supposed to trust, had been trying to violate her in more than one way? She had no idea how to say it.

Desiree and Jaden remained close after she was released from the hospital. Neither Jaden nor Rene were keen on her being in the same apartment she'd recently been accosted in, but neither of them were really going to complain too much. She was a determined young woman, and that was very well known.
Even if it wasn't seen too often.
After about seven months though, Jaden returned home in the middle of a blizzard to find a figure sitting and leaning against the wall of the building he lived in. It almost looked as if they were waiting for someone.
As he neared, they reached and looked up, brushing some of the snow off before getting to their feet. As they did so, he could see who it was.
Desiree.
And she did not look good.

"Don't worry, Rene. Nothing will." Desiree then said, trying to assure him that she'd be all right. All in all, she wasn't entirely sure she believed it, nevermind whether or not he did.
Granted, she did HOPE he believed her, of course.
