@Totalanimefan: it's like, 6 car lengths?
omg that's massive o:
@Shark: that’s pretty big.
Yeah the Potomac is massive. Sometimes I doesn’t even feel like a river. It feels bigger than that.
@Totalanimefan: I didn't even know they could get that big. everyone always mentions the length, no one mentions the width!
@Shark: So true. And it gets wider too. About 10 miles to the south you can't even see the other side that's how wide it gets.
Here's a photo I took this week.
@Shark: isn’t it! And more south of me I saw on google maps pictures that you can’t even see the other side.
I was looking up an 18 mile trail that starts about 5 miles north of me but I wanted to see what it looked like to the south. I think I would like to ride it in the spring.
@Totalanimefan: sounds like an interesting place to be around. is it very busy?
@Shark: I would say on a beautiful weekend day the trail can get busy. It's really a beautiful ride. You can walk it too of course. I've done both and I think bike is really the way to go.
@Totalanimefan: biking sounds like fun too. I haven't done that since I was a kid.
@Shark: Before I moved to DC I hadn't done it since I was a kid too, honestly biking is soo much fun and when you get to ride on a trail with all of the beautiful nature around you it's just amazing. You really feel like you are apart of the scenery in a way that walking and driving doesn't.
Also these trails are all paved, they aren't like dirt-mountain trails. So it's easy to bike.
I have an e-bike so if there are any hills, or I just need to go faster without putting in the extra energy, I use the petal assist on my bike. Means I don't normally sweat while riding unless it's hot. We needed to take my husband's bike to the shop because there was a recall on the pedals. It was about a 6-7 mile bike ride, but it was 90F that day. I was very hot by the time I got to the bike shop. I was ok, but I did not want to ride in that heat again. We waited until the sun was setting to ride back.
Interactive Map of all of the trails in the DC region. I for sure have only been on like 3-4 of them. I need to ride more this spring.
@Shark: Yes it really is. That site doesn't really give you pictures of the beautiful of the different trails, but I really love how different each one is and how we have so many miles of trails around here. :)
How have you been?
@Totalanimefan: Pretty depressed.
I've got art and music and reading. that's about it.

@Shark: I'm sorry. Spring is coming if that makes you feel any better.
Have you done any art this weekend?
@Totalanimefan: lol. I used to do a lot of freebie threads. on like ernya and gaia and stuff.
most of my recent art might be a little too much to show on here? my characters have a lot of scars
but this one of Kody is ok

Having you as a Voltie would be awesome.
