Yeah, he had smaller parts in The Vampire Diaries. Less chances to get to know him and understand what in his past has turned him into the man he became.
I think it is a really good backstory.
I think I got frustrated he just wasn’t being a good guy fast enough! I want my villains reformed! I’m completely in love with Damon!

Omg I get what you’re saying! Damon was my baby near the end of Vampire Diaries. I’m not too fond of the super good guy going bad, then going good again, and then bad like his bro though.
I think I liked Klaus in smaller bits. His sister annoyed me more than anyone though.

I read the Vampire Diaries books as a teen and fell completely in love with Damon! And I still love him in the show! I have a thing for the bad boys. >.<

I found out about the books after the show started. xD I’ve always wanted to read them, but I didn’t want to spoil the show when it was going on. I really should read them now. I miss my Damon.

@Artemis: they were written in the 80s or 90s I think, so they probably aren’t as relevant as they used to be. Like, no cell phones and stuff. But I remember liking them. The author does go a little crazy with the plots after a few books, but so does the show. XD
