Evan just smiled a little, and nodded.

"Yeah." he said.

"I mean, it sucks to be failing a class and not have anyone to help." he told him.

"So maybe -I- can." he said further.

"I mean, I'm not a professional or trained or anything, but maybe I can at least get you upwards to the mid-70's." he reasoned with a shrug.

"Just... lemme know what times and such are good for you, should you decide that this is a good idea."

Blair nodded.

"Yeah, definitely. Thanks." he said, gratitude in his voice before opening the sketchbook again and tearing out a page that had some scribbles that were crossed out.

One it, he scrawled a number.

"Here." He said.

"My phone is dead, gotta wait to replace it though. So here's my home number."

Evan took the paper, looked at it, took out his phone, entered it into his phone, put his phone away, and then put the piece of paper away as well.

"Your phone is dead?" he asked.

"How'd that happen?" he asked him. "And, like, well... hm. When and how, I guess is what I'm asking." he clarified.

"Because, depending on the problem, I may know someone that can help." he told him.

"....okay, my parents do, but you know what I mean." he muttered. "He's a real tech wiz, and can do almost anything with phones and computers and stuff."

"It's an old phone." Blair answered.

"It's just reached the end of it's life." He added with a light chuckle. "So it's not that big of a deal. Mom'll get me a new phone when she gets a chance."

"It's not a problem. Just minorly annoying."

"Fair enough." Evan replied.

"That makes sense." he said.

He was then silent for another moment, and looked skyward.

"Nice day." he said.

"Barely any clouds in the sky." he commented.

".........." he was then silent once more, before taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly.

"...you want to get something to eat or drink?" he asked.

"There's a number of carts and food trucks about, with plenty of variety." he said further. "And I can afford for the both of us if price is an issue." he then added.

Blair was silent for a moment before smiling.

"Gladly." He answered before putting the book and pencil into the bag he had before getting to his feet.

"Sadly, I ain't got any money. Kinda more than a little broke." He added with a light chuckle.

"S'why I said I'd pay." Evan chuckled in response, as he got to his feet as well.

"Come on, let's see what's here." he suggested.

-Later that evening-

Evan sighed as he sat at the desk in his room. His door was open, his homework was in front of him, but he was just staring at the pages before him, his mind as blank as them.

"....." he was silent, as he just looked at the space in front of him.

He seemed dead to the world, and one thing was for certain, he was NOT concentrating on his homework.

Instead, he seemed to just be doodling random scribbles on a scrap of paper that was off to his side.

Lindsay then walked by, and saw that Evan was distracted, to say the least.

"Evan?" he asked, knocking on the open door.

"Something wrong?" he asked him.

With that, the two of them had a bit of a lengthy conversation, with Lindsay sighing at the end.

"Your concern is sweet, but before assumptions are to be made, more info needs to be gathered. More concrete proof." he told his son. "Making assumptions with little information oftentimes does more harm than good." he went on. "But I assure you, I will be on the lookout for behaviour that corroborates your suspicions." he finished.

"Thanks, Dad." Evan responded, seemingly feeling much better.

Lindsay nodded in response, before leaving the room, and making his way back downstairs, sitting down at the kitchen table, and crossing his arms over his chest.

"...hm." he mumbled.

"Wonder if they're accurate..." he said to himself.

Lindsay was sitting there for about fifteen minutes before Casey approached and slid into the seat across from him.

"What's going on?" She asked.

"You look like you've got a lot on your mind."

"It's because I do." Lindsay replied.

"Evan's worried about Blair." he told her.

"Worried that their home life isn't what it should be." he went on.

"Says it seems like they're poor and their mother is unreachable and such." he said further.

"Perhaps she's just a busy woman." Casey suggested.

"Because... logically that does make sense, no?" She asked.

"Beyond that, I'm not sure what else to suggest for a possibility. I know it's possible that he's not in an ideal situation, but he seems to... happy? overall to be in a home like that."

"I know." Lindsay replied.

"It's why I'm not jumping to conclusions." he told her.

"What Blair's told Evan is certainly something that I, as their therapist, cannot afford to just merely dismiss, but I also cannot let this incomplete information cloud my judgements and trick me into making assumptions." he said further.

"I've merely been mulling this over, and coming up with plausible explanations that don't paint Blair's parents in a negative way." he assured Casey.

"...though, on another note, but pertaining to Blair, we'll be seeing more of them lately." he then informed her.

"Seems they've been failing Biology, and Evan's taken to tutoring them so they can bring their grade up to, as Evan put it, 'around mid-'70s, I hope'." he added with a small smile.

Casey just laughed.

"He's only doing so well because he was tutored by your cousin earlier in the year." She commented.

"But it's good that he's passing that information on." She then said before pausing.

"If you need or want me to, during the whole art thing, I can see if I can get any information from him?"

Again, Lindsay sighed.

"Well, it wouldn't be right for me to officially use you as a secret pipeline of information for such delicate matters." he said.

"However, if you do happen to hear anything that is concerning, or something to help ease Evan's concerns, I would be more than grateful to hear of it." he told her further.

"Personally, I think Evan's also using this to spend more time with Blair." he then said. "Not saying it's the main reason, but he may be seeing it as a fringe benefit." he chuckled.

"Evan seems to have taken to them." he then commented.

"Oh, completely understandable." Casey commented, referring to the beginning bit.

"And if I hear anything, I'll definitely relay it."She added. After a few seconds she just sighed..

"No. That's pretty much the main point." She commented.

"I'm pretty damned sure that Evan's got the hots for Blair.... yet won't admit it."

Lindsay raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?" he asked.

"....hm." he muttered.

"That... will certainly be interesting." he said.

"...however... this might be very good for Blair." he then said further. "They are suffering from self-image problems, and as such, comes questions about attractiveness and such." he reasoned.

"....but... this could also go horribly wrong..." he suddenly countered.

"Because... for better or for worse... Evan learned what he knows about interacting with those one desires... from our brother-in-law." he finished, referring to Rene.

Casey just sighed.

"True." She agreed. "We'll have to wait and see how he handles it."

'Anyway, what do you want for dinner? I was kinda thinking ordering in some sushi for the four of us."

"And didn't Darrel say he was going to give her a 'lift' home?" he then asked, referring to how the boy had inherited the portal magic of his father and grandmother.

"Yep." casey answered with a nod.

"Darrel's there with her, if I recall correctly. He's her support and there for in case anything goes wrong." She added.

"Too bad she was insistent on us not being there." She then said.

"I would've loved to watch her run, but I get how she's a teen and doesn't want her parents lingering around."
