I might need some legit therapy soon after dealing with all of this but tonight really was the icing on the shit cake. My mother asks me to hold her elderly chihuahua while she does something. He's difficult to hold because he's so bony and delicate so I set him down on the bed thinking I'll shield him from falling off (since he's blind.) My dad cries out in pain, I get distracted, the dog falls off the bed.
My mother starts immediately screaming at me, "HIS NECK! HE BROKE HIS NECK!"
Scared the shit out of me. Though he's able to hold his neck up now but he's also having multiple seizures now. I don't think he's going to live the night.
My mom keeps asking me, "Why couldn't you just hold him?!" @.@

@WhatAJoy: It's not your fault. It's no one's fault really. If you want to blame someone you could say that your mom shouldn't have given you that responsibility or that your dad shouldn't have shouted out in pain. (This is to show that it actually isn't anyone's fault)
@Totalanimefan: He's so old, and he's deaf and blind (the dog) that everybody including the vet keep telling mom to put him down, he's in so much pain constantly, but she refuses to let go of him.
@WhatAJoy: oh wow. This is all on her then. The vets only recommend putting the dog down if it’s really time. Please don’t blame yourself if she starts attacking you. It’s just her hurt feelings lashing out at you. She’s in pain and she is lashing out.

@Kent: He's alive thankfully, neck not broken, but now he's having seizures. I doubt he's going to last much longer. We're not holding up well at all. My dad is on his death bed as we speak, the last thing we need is the family dog going with him.

@Totalanimefan: Yeah, I'm really afraid of how she's going to react when this dog inevitably dies. It's terrible timing I know, what with my dad being on his death bed as well. She's going to handle it very poorly, I already know. I'm so stressed out just thinking about it.
@WhatAJoy: My mom help on to our first dog for too long and it caused the dog to suffer a lot until she had absolutely no choice but to put her to sleep. I'm so sorry you have to watch your pup go through that. I know it's easy to feel guilty but don't feel like you're to blame it he passes soon bc he got away with getting off the bed.
