It was a few months later, there wasn't anything too exceptional that had happened. Demi had told her Mother that she had, of course, been accepted as a freelancer, and she was gone for extended periods at times.
One day, she came home rather battered and bruised (but that was pretty standard by this point) before hunting out Jaden. She found him in the kitchen, looking for a snack.
"I got food for you, if you come with me. Someone you should meet." She said simply, and plainly.

As soon as she saw the mark on his back, he could literally feel the mana, the anger, the sheer hatred, that was filling the room.
