@MoodyBats: I have a red bubble. They’re really expensive though. If I wanted to actually sell things to people I’d order through a manufacturer. And red bubble doesn’t have just art prints. They have like, canvas prints and expensive stuff. But I have no idea how to get art printed on stuff directly. OnO

Artists now have like washi tape they design and stuff, and I’m like where do you get these things!? I got a coffee cup beautifully printed with art on it one year. I have no idea how people get their merch made!

@Lina: Some sites do it themselves instead of you.
A lot of times you just upload your design to some sort of manufacturer
and they make it for you and you order how many you'll need.
though not 100% sure on it.

Yeah washi tape seems like so fun to have as merch.
I love washi tape but i feel i am not very good at coming up with designs for things. :vanora_sweat:

@MoodyBats: I’m sure somewhere there are sites that are good for manufacturing merch. I tried to find some a few years ago but didn’t have any luck. That’s why I ended up at redbubble, but they aren’t a very good option if you want anything that’s not expensive.

Washi tape sounds easier than most things to design. It’s so thin it would be like, koi - lily pad - koi - lily pad - repeat

@Lina: only sites i know to sell is Society6 and Redbubble.
I don't fully trust etsy.

But i'll probably ask some artists when i get to that bridge.
first i need to overall just master my craft a bit better.

True. Though i just suck at designing things. :vanora_sweat:
So not sure if i'd ever have washi tape to sell.

@MoodyBats: the problem with places like that is that they take 90% of the cost because they do the manufacturing and selling and everything. Your cut is tiny. And fan art isn’t allowed. Sometimes they claim the rights to any designs uploaded, so you can never take those designs anywhere else.

I’d personally be more comfortable finding just a manufacturer that has no say in cost, sales, etc. and has no rights over the art or products. Seems safer. On Etsy they do no manufacturing, you just sell from there. I’ve done a lot of buying from artists on there.

@Lina: Odd since i know an artist who does sell fanart and they sell her work.

Well like i said i'm not even close to selling my work.
so I'll just ask some other artists and what they use and such.

@MoodyBats: it depends if you get caught or not. I tried selling fan art and someone reported it and redbubble removed the art and said if they found fan art on my account again I would be banned. So I guess you can take a chance and try to sell fan art and hope no one reposts it.

I wish I could sell merch! It sounds like such a great way to make money, doing something you love. ^^

@Lina: checked the site myself. It says you can officially sell fanart on it now.
So things must've changed since then.

Art in general will always be reposted no matter what unfortunately.
Just how it is nowadays.

I can't work or get a real job due to so many issues i have
so art might just be my only way to have a job.

the whole plan on what I want to do with my art career.

@MoodyBats: yeah, I understand that. It will probably take some research before you actually launch your brand, or whatever they call it. XD

It’s just so incredible when people make their own career! It’s really amazing! OuO

@Lina: yeah i just don't know if it'll be a success
or a total flop so it's a pretty scary thing.

I'm even too scared at times to open my social media that is purely
just art to the public.

@MoodyBats: do you get people saying bad things about your art on social media? That would give me such anxiety!

Once I was accused of stealing art (because I was using a base to draw art) on a forum. And I got all these horrible hate messages and stuff and I just left and never went back. It was so horrible!

@Lina: mine is locked so they can't.

I can understand that. I was never good at art until i began
studying relentlessly in late 2018-early 2019.

@MoodyBats: I’ve been studying/doing art my whole life, but I don’t consider myself good. My mom is good, she can just picture something in her mind and draw it. I like can’t even imagine what stuff looks like, much less how to draw it. I think I have an anti talent for art, my mind just doesn’t think visually. But I still enjoy it even if I don’t think I’ll ever be really good.

@Lina: i've been drawing my whole life
but didn't start studying until recently.

I use reference and everything and feel my art has gotten so much better
but not quite to where I want it to be.
But it'll get there soon enough.

@Miss Sandman: i honestly don't think any person could make me happy.
I'm fine just painting and living with a cat or two for the rest of my life and never having children
or getting married. I lost interest in those things.

Well the prompts don't have a theme usually they are what the artist who made them
wants to improve on.
