To explain the cat, Lev owns a light grey tuxedo cat, but since Voltra only has one cat item and it's black I'm having to make due with it. (I would very much like to see more cats in the future.)

Seriously? I thought everyone had heard of the headless horsemen. Though admittedly, I don't know the original story myself.
Well, I think people know of the Headless Horse Man, but not necessarily that he originated from the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
I know a lot of people who are familiar with certain creatures and beings, but not really where they are from. I'm sort of weird and into mythology and dark fairytales and stories so I'm usually familiar with a lot strange things.
