@Lady Luna: Oh he was, but supposedly he was pretty open about his show being a scam. Like when the stone giant thing happened, he tried to buy the original knowing it was a hoax. But when the owner of the original stone giant said no, he just went a built his own. Even bigger. Was upfront about it being fake. He was still a massive piece of shit though. Pretty racist too.
@Another Movie Addict: Sadly, that's unsurprising considering the era he was alive in.
@Lady Luna: According to a documentary I watched a month ago, Tom Thumb I believe was his stage name (one of the little folk) actually died richer than Barnum though. And that they're buried pretty damn close to each other.

@Lady Luna: The 'freak' lives are waaaaaaaaaaay more fascinating than Barnum's. Like Tom Thumb met his future wife doing Barnum's show, even though they were billed as siblings. Back then freaks had to be related, because you know that shit can't be widespread!
