@WretroughWorld: Yup, you're not alone! One of my friends also loves the idea of horror games but won't play them herself. She got the new Resident Evil pro controller for the Switch 2, but doesn't have the game xD
Which Resident Evil games have you tried? The first one I really got to watch was RE8, and then I think my fiancé went back and played either RE2 or RE4. They're interesting games, but really icky at the same time xD
Dead by Daylight is fun, and there's some crazy crossovers! Resident Evil, Hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm Street, D&D, Stranger Things, Evil Dead, and a bunch more I know i'm forgetting
Silent Hill monsters are really freaky, it's a great psychological horror. I don't wanna spoil things though =D
Honestly, my favourite thing about Amnesia is a review I saw by Zero Punctuation where he talked about the monsters popping out and going "Abloogy woogy woo", and it was the most hilarious description of a jumpscare ever xDDD

@Alchemists Fire: My ex tried to get me to play Resident Evil - one of the newer ones - one time. I ended up as what he calls "the cocoon of fear" as I huddled in his gaming chair, wrapped in blankets like a cocoon, with just my eyes visible. Apparently, it was adorable. But I was TERRIFIED.
Hell, even the insane asylum level of Thief (2014) scares me! And that's not even a horror / scary game!
We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?

Oh, asylums are a special sort of scary. I wish I could remember what the game was that I saw Markiplier playing that took place in an asylum... that one was definitely horror...
