I had a silver Montego but hit a mountain lion 4 years ago. The mountain lion was chasing a buck across the highway. Completely totalled the car. And I had just managed to pay it off. Now I have this one paid off but from past experiences I'm paranoid.
Congrats on making your last payment! I know the feeling of that paranoia since that seems to be the trend for fully-paid vehicles.

Congrats! I guess as long as you had insurance on the car you could get a new one in cash with the payout? That's what I did when my car was totaled in 2018.
