He was immediately about to say something, before pausing.

"Stay there." he commanded him, before rushing to Vanessa's office... to which the door was closed... and knocking on said door.

"Madam?" he called in.

"What." Vanessa responded, not opening the door. As far as he knew, she was ignoring him, but at the same time, she did actually respond.

He knew that he would need to speak quick, as she was not a very patient woman in most situations.

Speak quick, concisely and don't waste her time, or your words, or you may find yourself regretting it.

"Your newest business partner says they're going out to reprimand some subordinates." Azari quickly responded.

"They know the agreement is that someone from our end has to accompany them, and are demanding said escort." he told her. "And that they will break the contract to leave on their own if we don't."" he said further.

"However everyone here is either too busy or... well... dead." he then mumbled.

"Save for the grub." he went on, referencing Chris.

"Is he an acceptable escort for them?" he asked.

"You're wasting my time to inquire about that." Vanessa stated, her voice sharp, lacing patience. Obviously something was already bothering her, and his inquiry was definitely not helping.

She didn't say anything more. However, he knew that easily meant that she was not going answer him more specifically, that her lack of a counter meant that it was all right.

Angela just groaned as she took a seat in the waiting are of Hal's office. She was told that he was busy with someone else, so she had to sit.

Not that she was complaining. It was rather nice to take a seat for once. She'd been on her feet for the past two weeks, nearly straight, trying to ensure the survival of those that were suddenly not doing so hot.

Jake was on sick leave, as he had rather severe back pain from the attack. He was also confused as hell as to what happened, and that was something that Angela, nor anyone in the medwing, could answer.

Azazel was faring all right overall, but he was most certainly a bit more paranoid and jumpy than he had been before.

Anya was barely able to function, as it seemed that she had nigh on constant migraines that went so far as to make it that she could barely even think some days.

Hazel, meanwhile, was why she was there.

Azari just gulped.

"Yes, Ma'am." he said, before rushing off.

She was waiting for close to 25 minutes, before Hal's door opened, and a rather irritated woman stepped out, huffing to herself and marching out of the receptionist's office, demanding someone that was nearby to escort her out of the building posthaste.

The receptionist just sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Angela." Hal addressed the medic, as he could see her... given that the woman didn't shut Hal's office door.

"Please... come in." he told her.

He sounded annoyed and exasperated, but took a small breath and shook it off some, 'clearing the slate' for whatever Angela was there for.

Angela was silent as she made her way in, closing the door behind her as was the standard.

"... Maria's demanding a promotion again, huh?" She asked.

"I swear. Every time Kiah tells her no, she thinks she's entitled to it and comes to bitch to you about her." She added with a shake of her head.

"Anyway, I'm sorry, but you're not going to like what I'm here for now."

"She is ONE more fit away from being fired." he said.

"ONE." he said further.

"Anyway, you're here to make my day worse." he then commented.

"Excellent." he said sarcastically.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"That's not fair, I apologise." he said.

"What is it?" he then asked her, calming himself down.

"Some updates." Angela said, figuring that she wouldn't touch on the sarcasm.

"Jake is at home with Anya, but neither are doing too well." She told him.

"He's dealing with extreme back pain, and likely won't be able to work reliably for .... honestly, I don't know." She admitted.

"Anya's off your contract list too, due to far too frequent migraines that are ... well, they're bad. And worse than one might think." She continued.

"Az is... well, he's all right. He's a bit jumpy and whatnot, but I think he'll be all right in the end, and I'm reasonably certqain he can work, just nothing in the field for the moment. keep him here." She paused here, sighing heavily.

"... and I have no idea regarding Hazel." She told him honestly.

"whatever happened... it appears as if it broke her brain, possibly. No one is getting any sort of reactions out of her for anything. If she's told to do something, it seems she does it on autopilot, no anything to it."

Hal sighed heavily and hung his head.

"Lovely." he said.

"That's so many top agents and one of my best contractors out of the game, essentially." he muttered.

"And nothing on the cause?" he asked.

"Not a single blessed thing?" he asked further.

"No." Angela responded.

"Wonderful." he grumbled in response.

"Well, I DO appreciate the sudden stress and work you've found yourself under." he told her.

"Seems like you're holding everything together right now."

"For the moment, yes." She continued with a nod.

"I just..." She paused, sighing again.

"I have no idea what the cause is, and I admit, it's not something I'm happy about." She added.

"I'm trying to find something though." She added. "I just... I'm trying."

"But we know that that's... iffy at best in this case." he went on.

"And I don't know WHY." he continued.

"But let me know if you can think of any resources or anything that might help." he told her further.

"I will do all I'm capable of to help you."

"I'll let you know of anything I find that can help." She added before pausing a moment.

"How, if you're all right with it... I wish Jake wasn't in quite so much pain." She said. He could tell that she didn't mean it if he wasn't cool with it, but it would be nice.

"I don't know, knock the pain level down by 20%. Just... not be quite so debilitating"

"We'll know if you do a checkup or call him, or he contacts us." he told her.

"But for now... I tried." he shrugged.

"Nothing to do but wait and see if it worked."

"I'll let you know if anything happens, or if I discover anything."

"If I think of anything that could be useful, I'll let you know." She said simply. She didn't know what else to say, over all.

"Anyway, I'm going to get back to what I need to do." She said simply, getting to her feet.

Hal shook his head.

"No, don't apologise." he said.

"These things need to be told to me, good or bad." he reasoned.

"I'm sorry for my earlier attitude." he then apologised, himself.

"She's one more REPORT away from being fired." he revealed to her.

"Not just a fit. If I get just ONE more report about her behaviour in the next week, she's GONE."

"Seriously. I completely understand." She added, obviously referring to his apology.

"as for Maria.... yeah. She's a bit of a sourpuss overall." She then said.

"Bitch tends to steal from people's lunches too." She added candidly. "And then complain when she steals something from Aedan and doesn't realise that the woman's a zombie. Admittedly, that's entertaining."

"If that were an official complaint, she'd be out of here." he told her.

"But that is good to know." he said further.

"I'll have to look into her other activities." he went on.

"Regardless, thank you for the update." he then said to her.

"Hopefully the next time we see each other, the news will be better."

"well... here's hoping." was all Angela said before shaking her head lightly.

"Anyway, I'm going to clear out. I'll catch you later." She added before waving and heading off.

There was silence around them as they appeared in the parking lot. The shorter of the two just looking bored... but also extremely unimpressed.

"I know. Entering and causing problems is completely against the agreement." they stated after a moment or two with a roll of their eyes. They said nothing more before falling silent. Moments later, Chris noticed a change around him, a fraction of a second before the one he was with staggered back, losing her footing and landing on her backside.
