"I am grateful for that." he told her, a hint of sadness to his tone.

"...I do not look forward to the day where I grieve because of... well..." he then stammered, before sighing.

He would live for a very long time.

Lunet would, as well.

But Hollie... wouldn't.

"Anyhow, shall we just enjoy dinner?" She asked with a smile.

Sydney, Darrell and Nico were sitting at the table, eating dinner, when suddenly Sydney's cell phone rang. When she looked at the caller I.D, she saw it was the hospital calling her.

And that was either really good, or really bad, given that it was still 50/50 for both Jaden and Desiree.

She answered it quickly, but the one on the other side was NOT who she was expecting.

"Hey, Mom." Jaden greeted her.

"Hey." She said.

"I admit, I didn't expect you to be calling me." She admitted.

"How're you feeling?"

"...really want to get my hands on the one that attacked us, though." he then growled.

"Apparently he attacked Hollie as well. So ... he was caught, quite easily a that." She aded, almost offhandedly.

"Suffice to say, he ain't happy any longer."

Nico, meanwhile, just smiled.

"I can guess who that is." he mumbled.

"And seems like it's good news." he whispered to his grandson.

Nico merely looked away, false shame in his expression.

"Shame is my name!" he declared.

Darrell looked at Nico, then Sydney, then back to Nico, and then Sydney again.

"...grandma?" he said.

"News... about Mom and Dad?" he asked.

"And... and it's good, right?" he asked further, hope in his tone.

"Obviously." Sydney commented with a sigh.

"I'm not sure when they'll be home, but chances are you can go home in a couple days, maybe a week at longest." She told the teen honestly.

"Think you can hold out for a few more days? Or you gonna lose your shit with me?" She asked with a smirk. "Y'know, since I keep feeding you garlic foods."

Darrell just narrowed his eyes a bit.

"Oh, I dunno..." he said.

"How do I know you won't try to REALLY get rid of me now?" he asked.

"Because if she did, you'd be gone already." Nico chimed in.

"Disappeared. Gone. Without a trace." he continued.

"And your poor grandmother would be 'distraught' over it." he went on.

"Threatening to kill anyone she suspected of being involved." he added, taking a drink from his glass.

"Regardless. Tomorrow, I think, you'll be able to go see your folks."

"Tell me I'm wrong, though." he said.

Darrell, meanwhile, just sighed and nodded.

"That's good." he commented.

"I'm glad Mom and Dad are both all right." he said further.

"We both are." Nico said, now serious.

"Don't think either myself or Marcus would have taken too kindly to it working out any other way." he muttered.

She woke with a start, looking around, confused.

".... what... the fuck?" She asked, not sure what it was that she was supposed to make of this. She had an awareness of something odd happening, as if her body was housing two, before everything was black and vacant a few weeks ago.

"... my head is killing me." she muttered as she crawled out of the bed with a light sigh. As she got to her feet though, she noticed the limiters on her wrists, and how she felt.... weird.

About twenty minutes later, she texted Hal.

... Uh, hey. I ... don't know what's going on, and I'm so terribly sorry if I missed anything super important. She sent as she sat on the bed. She didn't take the limiters off, strictly because she thought they may have been there for a reason, and didn't want to risk any issues.

"Indeed." Nico said.

"Would not have been nice for the one that did it." he muttered further.

Hal looked at the text that he received, was silent for a moment, before sighing and shaking his head.

Come to my office. he sent.

Or would you prefer I go there? he then asked.

As he sent the texts, he looked around, and wondered if this was what he thought it was.

There was only one way to know, though... and that was to meet with her in person.

She paused a moment before sighing, not entirely sure how to answer that question. She wasn't going to debate it for too terribly long though, as she didn't really think that there was any necessity to that.

I'll be there sometime within the next half hour. I want to have a shower first. She replied with before setting her phone aside and getting to her feet to go do just that.

Sure enough, half an hour later, she stepped into the entryway of the Unit and waved to Jake.

"Yo." She said simply as a greeting.

"I'm here to meet my Uncle, wanna let me in?" She paused a moment before continuing.

"However, I seem to have lost my wallet. So ... if I need a photo ID of some sort, I ain't got. Sorry."

"Thanks Jake." was the last thing she said with a wave, before heading off toward the head office. Once there, she knocked on the door and was beckoned to enter.

He knew it was her, though.

"Hello." he greeted her.

"Have a seat." he said.

"Want something to drink?" he asked.

"Water, pop, juice, coffee?" he offered.

"What the fuck did I miss?" She then asked bluntly. "Because ... I know that there was a whole soul joint possession and whatnot for a week? two weeks? Bef0ore everything is just... gone. I don't know why, I don't know what happened, I don't know anything."

"Any chance you can fill me in? At least a little."
