The girl, Ayla, just nodded.

"She's a mute." Skylar then said.

"What are they going to do?" he asked.

"The hell does THAT mean?" Levi asked. Skylar just looked to him with a pointed and incredulous expression.

". . . . you really...." He started before Ayla sighed.

"You're being treated like the king of the world here, huh? Good to know." the bird continued.

"Maybe it means that she needs to add to the hell you're enduring? I thought that was pretty clear."

"Oh, shut up." Levi growled to him.

"It's bad enough that I'm torn from my friends and loved ones, kept in this miserable place, and having people forcefully invade my mind." he told him.

"ADD to the hell I'm enduring!?" he exclaimed.

"Whatever the ever-living fuck she decides to do, it'll make it worse for me, because THEY will undo it!" he went on.

"And every time THEY get to undo what's done, they come closer and closer to actually getting control over me!" he continued.

"Being treated like the king of the world? Fuck off." he then said, tears continuing to roll down his cheeks.

"If being king of the world means having my sanity be slowly eroded by interdimensional beings, because some damn elf wants to keep trying to put some mark on me, then dethrone me NOW!" he exclaimed.

"...actually, just kill me!" he then said, looking around frantically.

"I'll do it, myself! I'd rather DIE than let THEM take over my mind!" he finished, looking at them again.

And as he did do, his eyes flashed a dark shade... and the two of them could only describe the sensation they felt upon witnessing it as 'staring into the abyss... and it suddenly stared back, in the most literal sense'.

Skylar looked to Ayla after Levi's outburst, a stunned look in his eyes.

". . . do you really want me to say that?" He asked her.

Ayla just nodded. Skylar sighed before looking back to Levi.

"Then give them access to her. She will work with you to do whatever is needed to allow it." the bird told him honestly. His voice betrayed how he didn't want to say it though, but he knew she wanted to say it. Just couldn't.

"It is doable, right? She's a wood elf. That natural mana should certainly make it easier."

"I have no idea why she wants to put herself through that hell, but she wants to do it." He added, speaking candidly.

Ayla just sighed, but didn't say anything. Her reasons were her own.
