@Amber Lynne: Mandatory. Our only optional ones were like the extra classes. But we always had to take one Spanish class, one English class, one Math class and one Science class. Oh, and religion(Catholic high school). The rest, we picked from whatever they had. @LordLucre: Religion...
That's why I took philosophy in grade twelve instead. LOL.
(Although grade 11 wasn't too bad. It was more of a world religions course over JUST catholism.)

I did have two epic moments though. xD one time, the arch bishop came to talk to all the grades separately. When it was my grade's turn, he was talking and asked us "Where are the apostles now?" I raised my hand to answer and said "They're dead." He broke out in laughter at my answer. Another time, in 12th grade, during one religion class, the teacher asked "What do you have to do to go to Heaven?" Again, I raise my hand to answer... "You have to die." He looked at me weird before dying of laughter.
