I would give anything for you to shine down on me

so I was happily hanging out with 2 friends tonight at my place, and they left together to walk back to their place or car respectively. then I got a snapchat that they spontaneously went out for a drink and now I got FOMO like a MOFO and am mad that I didn't get invited and it would've been too much of a hassle to show up after the fact

ugh anybody else dealt with some FOMO recently?

fomo is fear of missing out by the way

I deal with it a lot whenever I have to work or sleep and my friends are clowning around. I always try to make time for them to combat the feeling.

I feel like this a lot lol. I'm very lazy and I also love saving money so usually I end up not going out a lot of times. I'm also trying my best to be a responsible adult and not spend all my money on stuff I don't need. Occasional outtings are fun and all but I try not to make a bad habit out of it.

Millet, spilling the tea:

Are they flirtin' with eachother? /eyeballs emoji/ xD

Nah, ive become numb being too busy in my own job and most of my friends being out of state. The two I have here make generous efforts to invite me places but I'm just too damn dog tired to do much after work besides come home and game.

Some of my old friends started doing that as some point and did it more and more.
In the end, I was the one to always contact them and they made no effort to reach out to me or see how I was doing.

@shark: dang that's rough :/ sorry

@kira: they've literally nothing else to do so they keep coming over my place to hang out and play with my new cat
i'm just offended they didn't invite me for drinks before i put my bonnet on ; A;

@alexis: i know how that is, that's what i should do
i'm too reckless with my money to pass up a chance to drink with friends xD

@millet: lol ew no way

@tuijp: omg my worst nightmare, how are you holding up? D:

@sirlionelnigelconrad: meh changing the mind is too much work when i can just demand they invite me next time

i think what really bothered me was that they left my place to go do something
like i could've gone too, but it was too late, i put on my bonnet and took off my bra

I dont have FOMO i KNOW im missing out. I have kids and none of my friends are up very late. People i talk to that go out a lot have more money and time and live far away. i know im missing out. i think i have more frustration from missing out (FFMO) cause im seriously frustrated i dont have the means to do stuff.

@Deaa: That's lame. You'd think they'd invite you somewhere especially when you invite them into your home.

@Deaa: at some point I decided that I would put my energy in it anymore and that, if they still wanted to be friends, they should reach out to me.
4 years later, still nothing, but I did make new friends who are actually there for me.
I mentioned to one of my new neighbours that my birthday was coming up before and they send me the cutest little card wishing me a happy birthday. They also keep up when I have to go to the hospital and ask afterwards how it went.

I definitely get 'FOMO' bad, especially when it's the boy I'm seeing and he hangs out with his friends heh. It's only a fleeting feeling though cause a boy needs his friends and I realize that. :vanora_xd:

@mookpooks: all im gonna say to that is they're your friends
like for the most part, if people didn't want to be around you, they won't be. if they wanna hang out, they will~
try reaching out to set up a dinner or something!

@thegreatpretender: oh woowowowowow i could not imagine
maybe host a dinner? (all of my recommendations are dinner-related)

@q t e a p o n: yeah that's what they said, and then they literally went out with me last night, so we're good now xD

@tuijp: i'm glad you found new friends tho!
oh that's nice, i've never had a relationship with a neighbor o:

@nyx: LOL boys make things difficult, especially the feelings
do you sometimes hang out with them?

@Deaa: I’ve been friendly with neighbours before but never like this.
Our dogs get happy when they see each other (that’s how it started), they remember important dates, we know what’s going on in each others lives and help each other.

@tuijp: oh wow that sounds really nice, I'm glad you have them!
(and it's really cute when dogs make friends with other dogs ; A; omg)

@thegreatpretender: ahhh well dang, idk then :/
dinner doesn't always have to be big, just one dish works, no sides
i'd say try to look for a day in advance and just try it out
doesn't have to be dinner either, but just something, you know o:
