SIms is pretty great. I have Sims 3 myself and several expansions for it.
Kept getting them when they went on sale.

@ashthealien: It's hard. No wait, it's impossible not to get obsessed. Lol. I got the Sims 4 base game for like $5 when it was on sale and have bought a few expansion packs (super cheap compared to regular price) as well. I also tend to download a lot of CC clothing and Maxis Match hairstyles to bring more variety to my options too.
@Lithinel: I feel you, I have a shit ton of mods on mine.

@ashthealien: Honestly, I think that in itself sort of can become a mini-obsession. I mean it's like you can "buy" your Sims new stuff at no cost. I refer to it as "going shopping" lol.

And let's just say...I tend to spoil my Sims with the cool stuff (cool clothing, hair mods. etc) Haha .
Yup it's CC shopping. XD it's a thing. I haven't actually done it yet myself.

I didn't get my own Sims games until 3 was released. I saw friends playing 1 and 2.
Also played some of the Urbz one for the PS2 and later one handheld Sims game for the DS.

I think I started out with sims 2 as a kid, sims 3 was my fav, the pets expansion with the horses was great
