I love basically anything by Neil Gaiman. His Neverwhere and American Gods rank among my favorites, for starters.

I'm firmly in the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fandoms.

Ray Bradbury rocks.

Some of my favorite classics are To Kill A Mockingbird, The Martian Chronicles, and Jane Eyre.

I love books from many genres, but the above are some of the highlights that come to mind right now.

I've always been drawn to Ravenclaw, but I have Hufflepuff tendencies, too. I appreciate all the Houses, but I identify the most with Ravenclaw. I'm a nerd.

I'm reading Gilded Cage by Vic James. It's the first in a series. It's a fantasy (my impression was YA, but I read the author labels it an adult/YA crossover). It's a modern setting with fantastical elements and set in Great Britain. It involves the concept of "Equals," people with magical abilities who oppress commoners. Commoners have to do a decade of "slave days," and the story follows two families (one of Equals, one of commoners). I find it very engaging and accessible, and the protagonists are likable.
